I listed my house for sale late Friday and it closed last night. Now I have to find another place to live. By June 15th.
It went for $15,000 less than asking, but that's $10,000 more than I thought I would get, so I'm ok with that. Now I have to find another place to live. (Did I already say that?)

No, I'm looking to move to another city. There was one house in my city that I saw online and would have liked to buy but by the time my agent got back to me, it had already been sold.

Yes, it is, but with the way prices are rising by leaps and bounds and supply is low, my friend thinks I should have held out for more.

With the housing market the way it is right now, I'm surprised it went for $15,000 under asking. But then, my husband's work partner put his house on the market at $459,000 (I think) and the realtor told him he would get more than half a million for it. I didn't think so. His house is a bungalow, smaller than ours, he's lived there more than 20 years and really hasn't done any renovations. I was right. I'm not sure whether he got above or below asking but he didn't get half a million or more. Perhaps the market is lowering because just maybe buyers are taking a stand and refusing to pay outrageous prices.
Congrats on the sale. I hope you find a new home soon.

Thanks. Some feedback from people who checked it out said it was too much work for them. They wanted everything done for them: new floors, paint, etc.

Thank you. I wanted it quick. I didn't want to start a garden here and then have to give it up. And I don't want to move in fall or winter, when I can't tell what the new garden would be.
