Flat and Sharps from Cornwall blew the crowd away

On the last night of the Fairbridge Music Festival in Western Australia, we watched a bluegrass group called 'Flats and Sharps'. Many of the crowd must have attended previous gigs as the mob were up and dancing as soon as the musicians started. The five lads were from Cornwall in England and they were on fire as was the audience. It was great to see the band and the crowd feeding off each other's energy.
The music was so loud our 'oldies' group moved right to the very back but the musicianship of this group kept us enthralled. Their hands were a blur during some of their faster numbers.
As they were the last act, they gave an encore and got a standing ovation from those who were sitting down and not dancing. The band members and audience formed a mutual admiration society. At the end of the set the band members taking video clips and photos with their cell-phones. Their FB entries later were evidence of the great time they had.
We didn't get a photo of them so I've included one of the 'little free library' which was part of the Festival.

@JudyEv Early this morning, not far from here in Italy, a 16 month baby has been killed in a car accident. It was 1 in the morning, the parents had both not fastened the seat belt and the kid was on the lap of her mother. Parents should be held responsible as much as the car that hit their car.

@LadyDuck I think they would be in a lot of trouble here. We have very strict rules. Certain child car seats are meant for a certain weight child; baby 'pods' have to be strapped in only in the back seats and facing a certain way (I'm not sure of all the details). These parents would be charged I'm sure. I gather they didn't die but were they badly hurt?

Not sure which expression you mean. 'Blew the crowd away' maybe? It just means they were very good.

@teamfreak16 I should have explained. The hotel has a lot of tourist groups go through, many of them German.

I think all the people there on that last night will be back next year.

Whenever I'm stuck listening to something I'm not enjoying I concentrate on trying to appreciate the artistry - or I practice counting to 100 in French. At Fairbridge we'd probably leave and go to the bar too!

Sounds very enjoyable. The group seems very talented. Music does that...it seems to have a way of captivating people. Glad it was a good experience for you.

I couldn't decide who was more excited - the band or the crowd.

Your festival drew musicians from all over.
