Volunteer Work

Today I felt was a productive day. I have a four day training to attend for some volunteer work that I will be doing over the summer. Today was day two and I felt the training went well. I left feeling positive about my experience and looking forward to my work at the center this summer and being able to help people. I'm hoping to be able to set aside one day a week to do volunteer work this summer while I see how my work schedule will be. I have enjoyed training with the individuals I will be working with and getting to here different experiences. This will be a positive time for me. Do you enjoy doing volunteer work? What areas have you enjoyed the most?

@nawsheen That is great to hear. I think that it would be a good thing to volunteer at an orphanage. I will try to do that if it is available in an area where I live. Fighting for environmental issues is definitely needed. Thank you for the work that you do!

Good for you. I have never been a volunteer mostly because i don't have the time. especially now, i don't think i have the strength and capability to do so..
good luck to you though! I hope it's going to be so much fun once you start working.

@joy I completely understand what you mean about not having the time. I have been so busy the last couple of years that it has been crazy. I also have felt a strong need to provide for my family and that requires a lot of time to spend with them as well as working. I know that I can't volunteer all the time but it is my plan is too make it work. I will be working with pregnant women and women who have had their child and I think it will be a joy to help them.

@bhem I'm glad that you enjoy being with your friends. I agree with you that being around friends is so helpful and it is definitely encouraging for everyone. I'm hoping that my schedule will allow me to spend more time with them this summer.

@stephenray the library is a great place. I haven't been able to go to the library in awhile. I recently bought a kindle and I'm hoping to have some time to read.

@larryprice that is great that you are able to do volunteer work in an orphanage. I hope to be able to do work like that in the future.

I volunteered at a nursing home, a homeless shelter and an elementary school. I enjoyed all of them for different reasons. =)

@lovingmybabies those are great places to volunteer at. I think that it is good to volunteer it is so helpful to others and I feel it also keeps us humble.
