Out of the Blue

Married couple Peter and Faith are in their thirties, have two children and they both have successful careers. Faith is a weather girl on a well known television channel and Peter is in publishing. They married very young and at their fifteenth wedding anniversary Faith thinks that everything between them is good and she is looking forward to the rest of her life with her husband. During the evening of their anniversary meal that they shared with close family and friends , somebody makes a harsh comment about Peter which make Faith feel uneasy. The comment was made by Faith`s best friend , who in my opinion should have kept her mouth shut, as she was hinting that Peter was having an affair. Her opinion was based on the fact that Peter had lost a bit of weight and he was taking more care of his appearance. She also noticed that he was wearing a really expensive tie that neither Peter or Faith could have afforded to buy. This comment made out of the blue by Faith`s so called friend made Faith feel vulnerable and suspicious. She started doing things that were out of character for her, like checking Peter`s post, emails, pockets etc. Peter found out that Faith was checking up on him behind his back and this started a series of events that could have changed both their lives for the worse. Out of the Blue was written by Isabel Wolff in 2001 and published by Harper Collins.
