They Broke TV Remote

Hey all,
It's like hell today at home. My brother (cousin) works in another state ,he has two kids.They came yesterday on summer vacation. If one is north pole other one is south pole.Both their parents are working.They spend time with their nanny after school till their parents come home.
If one likes to watch cartoon other one wants to watch a movie, they keep on fighting for remote.I know children do all this but there is a limit for anything.Today while fighting for the remote ,the elder one broke it. It's a new TV bought only few months back (I bought the TV, may be that's why i am feeling so bad)
I cannot scold them, . Helpless situation.

Their parents did not say anything , my mom says they are children leave it, which I dont like at all

@MALUSE Now a days many parents are too lenient. And some are so biased that even if their kids do bad things, and trouble someone else, they overlook those things and even start arguing with the victim, and their parents.
This is morally wrong but I am seeing society increasingly moving towards such behaviour. This is very very worrying.
What if we teach our kids good values, but very less other kids follow such values?
It becomes very tough then to have one's kids follow good moral values.
The society decays but then if we let bad things propagate, how can we let the society progress?

@prashu228 But children need advises and they must realize the mistake they do. I am not telling scold them but they must inform in a nice way. Parenting is a tough task. I will say we have to be strict with children wherever it is necessary .

@prashu228 Yes at times, in relations, it becomes very tough, and one has to tread carefully. However, may be you can convey your feelings in some clever way going forward.

Yes sometimes kids do not listen at all. It is very hard to get them behave in a "peaceful" manner. One way could be to sit and have an elder always take care of the remote in such cases.
However, that is not always practically possible.
May be when these two kids grow up, they will act more responsibly.

I am sorry to hear that. In the past it was difficult to solve it. But today it is easy. I know buying the new remote control from your TV company is expensive. But you can buy any TV remote control via the net easily and they all work well. Especially these TV remote controls are not expensive. The remote controls for our air-conditioners were changed already because the old ones broke.

I would be going MAD as hell if they dare wreck our TV! Not to mention it's not even their HOUSE! I know my brother would if relatives are here. I won't feel bad for the parents if they're not doing their job disciplined their children at home and leave it to the maids.
