~Question That Was Just Brought Up~

Julian as a newborn

Since this was just brought up in another discussion of mine I am now super curious! Someone mentioned that Josiah born at 6 pounds was a big baby at birth. So, now I am wondering...how much did your babies weigh at birth-or how much did you weigh at birth? I know I weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces-that's big! I don't think 6 pounds is a big baby... How much did you or little ones weigh at birth? Do you think 6 pounds is a big baby? The picture is Julian when he was born

I do not think six pounds is a big baby. My son was the average size even though he was born at eight and a half months.

I had no baby, but I know that I weighted 7 pound 9 ounces when I was born and my younger brother 12 pounds 30 ounces, he was a very big baby. He is still tall and big.

@LovingMyBabies I guess that is when it is a good idea to do a c-section, depending on the size of a woman. Thank goodness technology can actually weigh babies and such before birth to know what is the best option!

My daughter was nine pounds and four ounces, and she was EARLY. I can't imagine how big she would of been if she was full term. I was six pounds nine ounces when I was born.

@LovingMyBabies Yeah, and it was an all natural birth. I was 7cm dialated when I got to the hospital. That is not really an experiance I would like to live through again, she also had a head circumfrence side of 16 1/2 inches. Talk about ouch lol

6 pds is tiny for a baby. Who was thinking this is big? I know I weighed like 5 pds 8 oz when I was born. My brother on the other hand was over 9 pds and now he is like 6'4" and maybe 170 pds

@KrauseHome I won't mention any names. Lol. I think 6 pounds is on the smaller size as well. Over 9 pounds! Wow! That is a big baby.

6 lbs is not a big baby. My older son weighed 6 lbs 12 ounces at birth and I thought he was tiny. Boy, was I surprised when my 2nd boy was born, he was only 5 lbs 8 ounces. He was so tiny, the doctor said he was border line premature. Now compare that to my sister's daughter, she was 9 pounds at birth. That is a big baby. I don't know how my sister carried her around and had a natural birth, LOL.

@Leapea2417 Yeah I don't think so either. Mine were all 6 pounders with some ounces except Josiah-he was my smallest at an even 6 pounds. My husband was very premature so he was super tiny at birth (2 pounds)! Oh wow, 9 pounds is a big little one!

I don't think a 6 pounds baby is a big baby at all. Personally, I was only 5 pounds.

Six pounds isn't a big baby at all, there are some babies that way up to 8 or 9 pounds at the time of birth. As for me, I weight 7 pounds and 9 ounces when I was born.
