While I was mylotting in my bedroom, i heard some noises in the kitchen, the kind of noises made with a rolling pin. So I got up quietly while Leticia was placing the sewing machine on the table as I´ll make a couple of pillow cases and looked about. There they were: the sopaipillas ready to be eaten while looking at the rain and being happy that we have a sound roof over our heads. We are fortunate. Rain, for us, means sopaipillas. For some other people it means hunger and bitter cold and death.

Yes to be so grateful Marquicha is the key for me every day too when I want to complain.. It is vital to be covered and have shelter. When we think of the people that are out in the rough elements and with no food, we get sad.

@TiarasOceanView Although I´m no Pollyanna I learned how to count my blessings very early. I have been lucky in spite of the pains of life.

We are very lucky. I get very angry with people when they complain online that they are poor. How can thet pay the internet and buy their computers if they are so poor? I don´t have a diamond ring. I don´t need a diamond ring though. I´m rich in a thousand other things.

@marguicha Indeed, I count it as the best blessing in life is to have a roof over your head..this is the way I was raised. My Mother always told us this.

What is a sopaipilla and why were they looking at the rain if they were about to be eaten?

I explained about the sopaipillas in my last post A sopaipilla is a sort of fried bread that we make in my country when it rains. It is a sort of dough but it also has squash. It is server sweet or salty. We will look at the rain while we eat them.

It's true. Despite how hard we think we live, there's always other people who have harder life than us. It's important to be grateful. Enjoy your day.

One man's meat is another man's poison. Have you heard that saying? It's pretty true really.

Interesting how certain words mean different things depending on where you are in the world. Very good thing you have a sound roof to keep the rain off your food.
