Sun Bathing Turtle

It was pretty nice out and I figured I would see some turtles hanging out. I was right and saw a few of them, including this one as it rested on a log and enjoyed the sun.

They come out of hiding whenever it is out because, this time of year, the temps can still get below freezing at night.

That looks like one happy turtle. I think that even though they move slow, they are really fascinating creatures. Its such a nice year weather wise here in California that its neat to know that everything in the world is enjoying it too :-)

The more I watch them, the more I wonder just why they have a reputation of being slow. The ones I've seen move pretty darn fast.

I have never seen a turtle sun bathing. I bet that was something.
