I'm way too old for this!!

Hubby and I went out last night to celebrate my birthday. Our first stop was at one of my friend's dessert places to make sure I had some food in my system. I had a glass of wine there, and stuffed mushrooms which are to die for. Then we went over to the bar where hubby works on the weekends. Everyone knows him.. so the bartender was giving me free drinks and shots all night. Hubby only drank a couple redbulls, they were also free. We tipped the bartender $20, but never paid a dime for a drink. I really didn't think I'd had too much to drink, but apparently I did... Today I feel like death! I spent most of the morning being sick.. I tried so many things to try to settle my stomach and get some fluids in my system, but I couldn't keep anything down. I took a short nap this afternoon and feel a little better now, still weak and still haven't eaten but at least I am keeping some fluids down.. I guess my body just had to remind me I'm not 20 anymore! I think it will be a good long while before I party like that again! When was the last time you had a hangover?

Occasionally I wake with a bit of a headache but I don't like noticing that I'm slurring words or whatever so I usually ease off before that point. At least you really celebrated your birthday! And a belated Happy Birthday too!

Thanks! I blame it on the bartender! I don't drink often.. but usually I can hold my liquor. I think whatever she mixed for me (I told her to surprise me) was just too strong.. then a couple shots and another drink later and I was a goner! I wasn't slurring words, but standing up straight wasn't an easy task, and I was usually holding onto hubby for support.

@JudyEv I drink so infrequently that I don't really have a signature drink. I love white russians, but they always make me sick so I stay away from them.

@katsmeow1213 Having someone supply drinks is totally different to choosing your own.

I've never had a hangover, but I've had migraines; all the pain, none of the fun! Besides, you're only 29! Happy belated birthday! You ARE the Kat's meow. I know, I know, it's terrible.

@katsmeow1213 I'd actually take 29, or even 30. I mean 21 sounds good as long as I get to skip the drama that I had going on then.

@AmbiePam Hmm.. I guess.. 21 wasn't bad for me. I started dating my husband right around my birthday.. officially it was a week later but you know.. we moved in together that year. That was also the year of 9/11 though. We were moving in to our first place the day that happened.

No way! I'm 21!! I don't ever want to be 29! Okay.. maybe in 10 years I'll be okay with 29...

@katsmeow1213 yeah. Like all my nightouts, I know I had a good time but I couldn't remember a lick of what I did!

The last time I had a hangover was decades ago when my future husband went to Europe for 6 weeks. Never again I did it.

Happy Birthday! I think most of us have been in your shoes, A birthday is a good day to celebrate as long as you have a sober driver... I hate hangovers and thankfully with age cames wisdom..

My husband doesn't drink, even if he's allowed to, he doesn't like to.

I never have had one. I have only had an occasional drink ever. I am hesitant to ever make drinking a habit as many people in my family have been addicted.

I didn't intend to drink so much, but when the bartender learned it was my birthday she kept giving me shots!
