Do you believe in evolution?

How do you think man arrived on the earth? Do you think he gradually changed from an Ape to what he is today like the theory of evolution suggests, or do you think it was some other way. And what is that other way?

Almost every religion has myths about creation and, in particular, the creation of man. Many of these, from widely different locations - China, North America and South America as well as the Middle East - have stories about man being created by some god from clay and then having life 'breathed into him'. The creation stories in the Bible are most likely derived from similar stories in older Middle Eastern cultures and there is really no reason to see them as anything more than the reiteration of a very old (and very natural) speculation about "what must have happened". Science, on the other hand, can show us very concrete evidence from the fossil record and, more recently, from DNA evidence that all humanity has evolved from an ancestor who also gave rise to the various ape species which exist today. In other words, humans did not 'evolve from apes' and nor did apes evolve into humans, any more (or less) than it is true to say that you 'evolved' from your grandparents. The FACT of evolution is proven and accepted, even though the method (the 'HOW') may not be fully understood and there is no LAW (a description of a process which can predict what happens under certain conditions and circumstances) which can be formulated. In scientific language, a HYPOTHESIS is the description an untested and (as yet) unproven process. Once it has been shown by evidence and by the agreement of the observations of a number of people to be a true and accurate description of the process, it then becomes known as a THEORY. Unfortunately, many people use the word 'theory' in an unscientific and much looser sense to describe what is merely speculation. That is the stumbling block which causes many people to continue to believe in myths and legends.

No, I don't believe the theory of evolution. I believe what the Bible says in Genesis 2:7 American Standard Version (ASV) 7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

@jujunme Just like horses and apes are different, so is man and ape. The common denominator is that God made all things. Hebrews 3:4 New Life Version (NLV) 4 Every house is built by someone. And God is the One Who has built everything.

Man shares some of the same dna but did not evolve from apes.

I totally 100% believe in evolution because all the evidence is out there around us for anybody who cares to look. The idea that otherwise seemingly intelligent adults can believe in so-called 'Intelligent' Design makes me weep for the future of humanity.

Reverse everything you have said and i will agree that you should weep , not for the future of humanity but for those who think we came to be from nowhere

@jujunme Sorry but there's no more chance of you changing my mind than there is of me changing yours.

This is one of the discussion topics that leads nowhere because each side *knows* that they're right and they won't move one iota from their point of view. Because of this, I won't take part.

No. I don't think so. If Apes had been evolved into humans then we still able to see Apes who haven't revolved into humans?
