Sunshine To Start Off This Week

Happy Monday! Finally!! we have some sun this morning and what a pleasure to wake up with the sun streaming through my bedroom window. Before I got out of bed I was already smiling. Yesterday was a full and fun day here at my house. Everyone came to celebrate Mother's Day, my daughters birthday and my grandsons birthday. We had two cakes, brownies, black & white bakery cookies and ice cream sundaes. Of course this was all preceded by a pizza party. Normally we have a big meal on occasions like this but since we were all together just a few weeks prior for our Easter dinner no one wanted to go through all the hassle of cooking a big meal again. It was really nice and for a change we all got to spend time sitting around and visiting rather than in the kitchen cooking and cleaning up. The weather cleared up for awhile in the afternoon so the kids were able to go outside and run around and get rid of some of that energy that they all have. Gosh I wish I had half of their energy. All in all it was a great day and it makes me proud to look at my children, their spouses and all the grandchildren they gave me. I am truly blessed in all the things that matter in life. Now we're at the beginning of another new week. Looks like this week will bring more sunshine and it's going to get hot! I wonder if we'll finally be able to put away those winter clothes and turn off the heat? What do you think?

It sounds like you really had a fun celebration. We had an all in one celebration(two birthdays and mother's day) early this month due to work schedules.

It was a sunny and delightful day here also today. They are calling for hot summer weather tomorrow and on Wednesday......ugh, and I think that my a/c in the car needs a shot of freone. I was going to call our car guy back in the old area that we lived (haven't found a new guy up here yet) so that he could look at it when I go back for another appointment there, but it isn't for another couple of weeks. Yikes, I might have to suck it up with the heat or pay thru the nose for Mr Goodwrench, and neither of those options sound like anything we want right now.

Maybe it won't get so hot you can't live without the a/c in the car and can make it to your old guy back in the old neighborhood. I hate taking my car to someone I don't know as I'm always afraid of being ripped off and them doing something to my car that really isn't necessary to make more money.

@Marilynda1225 That is why I don't necessarily like taking it into a random GM dealership, even the dealership we purchased from were great at gouging you for work not necessary.

So good to hear all had such a good time!!! We have a lovely week ahead of warm and sunshine too, which may be right or wrong due to the inability of those weather folks getting a long-range forecast right. I have put away the winter clothes, but they are easy to get to, just in case.

I'm thinking it might be safe to put away the winter clothes and just keep a sweater handy just in case. I'm looking forward to some nicer weather and hoping to be able to enjoy sitting outside before it gets too hot.

@Marilynda1225 Me too. I am not a fan of hot and humid, so hope you and I can enjoy some nice weather before the heat comes our way.

I haven't seen a black and white cookie in ages!!! Yes, put away the winter stuff - my a/c has been on for weeks. Summer is here and there!

Did those black & white cookies bring back some memories of NJ? Mine came from NY. Things like this I miss most about those two states.

We had a sunny weekend and it was a real pleasure after all the rain of the past two weeks. The week seems to be sunny, I can hope the bad weather is now over.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get a little bit of spring before the hot summer weather.

I would be more than happy to see the back end of gloomy days and nothing but sunshine ahead.

I have put away the winter clothes and hope we don't need them until next fall. Your Mother's Days sounds delightful. My kids were home on Saturday. Only one could stay the whole weekend with her hubs and my grand-dog. It is lovely outside right now. The kids fixed my yard and got my hydrangeas in the ground and seeded the lawn, fingers crossed it grows before the birds find it.
