Good evening.this has been going on for awhile. I have loss interest in food.I am sure that this has a lot to do with my age. All the food that I love is no more.Sometime food do not appeal to me. This could be due to my bud taste loss.Or some medication can do this. The only thing that I can taste and love is sweets. Some time I turn up my nose on pasta, ribs etc. I am sure a lot of this is aging and my medication that I have been taking over the years. We do not have too many older ones here to compare with this. But I have to get my fiber and other things that I need. Any one here with bud taste loss ? the photo there. As you can see where it came from.

I think the reason is most likely your medication - not age . I know of a ninety year old great- grandmother who enjoys her Kentucky fried chicken.

I have basically the same problem: do not taste my food all the time. I also do not smell anything. Very frustrating.

I'm sorry you've lost your sense of taste. Have you asked your doctor if it is medication related?

Could very well be the medication. Have you talked with your doctor about this change?

Better you take Ginger and honey regularly for 3 days early in the morning. It will show the result.

They say your tastes for foods and flavors change every seven years....whoever "they" may be. My dad has had a similar thing in recent years (you and he are the same age). My mom didn't necessarily lose taste as much as "appetite," in general: it took less and less to "fill her up." She still enjoyed food, though, for most of her late life.

Food is no more as good as it was in the past, I would say particularly fruits and vegetables, they taste like plastic in our days.

I think my taste has changed over the years too. There are quite a few things that taste differently from what I remember.

It's frustrating when foods you used to love no longer appeal. Like you, I still love the sweets. Unfortunately my doctor wants me to limit them.
