Why do some not like the like button?

I've noticed that some mylotters will respond to a post but not like it. I find this puzzling. Why not click the like button too? Perhaps it is a lack of time. I know the site has been working slow for me the last week or so. Do you like and respond or just respond to a discussion?

I do both. But I am that guy that does that. So I do it. Because it's what I do.

Are you sure you are not the other guy who does that?

I tend to like and then respond to the discussions along with comments directed to me.

Yes me too, I also like some members responses to posts but this is dependent on time.

@Gillygirl Definitely. Also, if they like a comment of mine and then reply to me, I like their replies too. No likes from them, no likes from me.

I like everything I respond to and if I read something and don't have a useful response I still hit the "like". In fact, I'll sometimes go down the responses and "like" them, too, since it helps the peoples' earnings. I've noticed that I sometimes have to hit "like" 2 or more times for it to register. Maybe others are having that trouble, too, but don't notice it doesn't register?

I've had to press the like button twice on several occasions so this could be a reason. I will like a post even if I don't have a response. This is usually because others have given the same views as me.

I like more than I comment, which is partly due to lack of hours in the day.

Yes that's a good reason. Many mylotters are at work. I will like a post but not respond if I can't think of a suitable response.

@Gillygirl Or sometimes you realise that what you wanted to say has already been said by three other people in the comments and you don't just want you repeat!

I press the like button and respond. Otherwise what would be the point in it all? Just my way of thinking.

Yes like and then respond. I may just like a post if I can't think of a suitable response but that doesn't happen often.

@Gillygirl I get one or two like that and I like them but then I cannot think of a response as there is so much detail already.

@Lupita234 Its probably the amount of detail I canĀ“t think of what to say right away. Nontheless they have done a really good post.

i usually like first but doesn't bother me if they don't do mine. i mostly care about response more and some just like and run with no response on a post which is annoying. i would not care if the like button wasn't even there cause this ain't FB after all. lol

Lol it's a bit inane on Facebook but you do get a fractional cent if your post is liked.

I like and respond. I notice some of my posts don't get a like either although normally I forget to check. If I don't actually 'like' a post then I wouldn't respond either.

your observation is right. In my opinion, I respond to every post. I feel bored to use it. No particular reason.

This is the first I've seen about being bored to use the like button. I do use it as it increases my fellow members earnings if I like their posts too.

I'm interested in knowing why some people just respond and not like a discussion. So far the only reasons I've been given are time and boredom factor.

I've seen discussions where members get more likes than responses. It doesn't really bother me. I was curious. There has been the odd occasion I've responded without liking if I think guidelines were broken.

I usually just respond. I think it's more important to respond than to like because that shows you actually read the post. A like doesn't say that because a person can just hit the button without reading the post. But to be honest I tend to forget a like button even exists...
