There's always someone like that

In a cats lover group that I joined on fb, we would help out if there's a member in need. Be it whether financial, support, advice or just about anything that we could help, then we will. It's all in the name of saving or helping another cat.
A few days ago, a member posted about a stray that she found. It was in a bad shape and clearly need help. So some members started chipping some fund after she showed a rough calculation made by a vet. The paper was even stamped by an official vet mark completed with signature.
Then yesterday, another member posted an alert on the member. It turned out she's a scammer who've been taking advantage of cats lover kindness. She's been from one group to another. The picture that she showed was from who knows where. It's been awhile since she was active again.
It's actually irritating and at the same time saddening to know that. When we're trying to create a better place, there's always someone like that. Thankfully, despite being scam, members still help out when someone else needs help, though being more careful this time.
I hope someday she would learn her lesson. Karma may hit her one day as that what it does.

The thing about this is we shared our rescue strays so other members could help. It is a closed group and yet she managed to sneak in. She didn't immediately ask for money too. She was our friend for months. She even shared pictures of her cats. Or I thought they was. She probably use picture of someone else cats. She even comments and post something of herself. Fb is global and rescuers scattered all over the country. We can't just visit her to check.

@prinzcy it sounds like she tried to pass herself off as sincere and legit to earn your trust before betraying you with her scam. i hope she never slips into your group again, and you're able to warn others to beware of her.

If scammers used their ingenuity to find real work they wouldn't have to resort to scamming others out of their money. These people are despicable!

That's why it's so hard for people online who really do need help to get it. There are so many people scamming just for the money--playing on people's sympathy.
We have WAY too many cats. We can't afford to fix them....shoot, I barely can afford to feed them and keep up on litter. I've tried posting in the local pets facebook group to find them homes. What I find is people who want to "yell" at me for having so many and others who put you down wanting to know why we have them when we clearly can't afford them etc.
Well, it just happened! And, it's going to get worse now as I'm sure all the females are now pregnant!

That's going to multiply your cats. Some people love to bring people down instead of helping out. Try searching for adoption page on fb. I don't know whether it will work but it's worth a shot. Also they say growing cat grass can help. The cats eat the grass, thus lowering food costs. I haven't try that one yet as I don't know whether my gardening skill will work on this one.
I give my cats meds as I don't have enough fund to neuter them yet. So far my cats total remain at eight. That doesn't include a stray that I feed at my workplace. I hope to find it a home soon.
