Yesterday @nanette64 suggested a remedy for my headache. She told me to wet a washcloth, heat it in the microwave then apply to the base of my skull, bend head forward (chin touching chest) and press on the hot washcloth. I figured, why not try it - Tylenol wasn't doing anything. I did as instructed and almost burnt my hands taking the washcloth out of the microwave! I 'cooked' it a little too long! Once it cooled a little I did what Nanette said and within a few minutes I felt a lot better. I did it twice more during the evening. The headache did not/has not gone away yet, but it did offer a big measure of relief. So far today it hasn't been too bad and I felt good enough to paddle around in the pool for two hours! That by itself was good medicine for me! I will be seeing the doc in the morning and I will tell him what I did and find out his reaction. Photo from Pixabay

When your head feels like it's going to explode @Marilynda1225 , you'll try anything to see if it works.

Do you eat a lot of salt? My stepbrother used to get a lot of headaches and doctors figured out it was due to too much salt.

I add no salt at all to food, haven't in about 14 years. I don't eat salty foods like chips either.

Mentally I needed to be in the pool...and it is so sparkling - first time we have not had a zillion water issues.

Yes, do be careful when you take it out of the micro (you may have to flap it in the air to cool it down a little). Ask the doc if you could have a pinched nerve in the neck @AbbyGreenhill . Sometimes that will cause migraines too. I'll be interested in what the doc says about 'the remedy'. Thank you for the tag.

Now that sounds like an interesting cure for a headache. I'm glad it worked to relieve it for the most part. It must have felt good to spend time in the pool.

Whatever works is good in my book. It might have something to do with your circulation if heat helped.

That's a good tip to remember. I have a new-found respect for people with migraines. The only one I ever had was so horribly unrelenting. It was more painful than anything I've ever experienced and I"ve had several surgeries. Sure hope you feel lots better soon.
