Pet Peeve: Saying you don't like a food before you even try it.

I have always been annoyed with this, maybe it's because I was taught to always try something before you decide that you don't like it.
This is why it bugs me when people especially adults say that they don't like something without tasting it, especially when they refuse to taste it.
Does arugala, kale and spinach neccesarily sound good if you have never had them? No, maybe not, but are they? Absofreakinglutely.
People don't like trying things that they aren't comfortable with, I get that. It's true about everything, not just food. But you don't know what you are missing.
What is one food that you weren't sure you'd like and were surprised when you tried it?

I have tried those and sushi. Yuck! I didn't like lasagna as a kid for some reason and now enjoy it.

@JohnRoberts I still don't like lasagna. There is a version of it that i like but i use chicken and white sauce.

I'm picky. Don't like a lot of things a rarely like to try new foods. With that being said over the past couple of decades I have forced myself to try 1 new food a year.. And usually liked it.
My list of new foods includes bagels, muffins, some Chinese food, Cole slaw, And a bunch of other things that lots of people probably eat but I was to chicken to try.. Lol

I am very guilty of this, especially if I smell it and it doesn't appeal to me. I'm sorry! Lol. I tried wings that were spicy and I HATE spicy foods but I love these wings.

@TiarasOceanView I think my biggest one like this is when people say they don't like fish because they don't like Tuna. All fish doesn't taste the same and there are hundreds of different types of fish and endless ways to prepare them.

Well I'm a big annoyance to you then. As i dont try new foods that sound, smell, or look gross. Or that have something in it that i do not like.
I've never liked anything that i knew i wouldnt when i tried it. As i know me and my taste.
And not everyone has the same taste in foods. So just because its good to one person doesnt mean it is to someone else.

spinach surprised me when I tried it - not tried Kale or Arugala (not even heard of that one before) will happily try them though @thislittlepennyearns
