What book or story do you wish they would make a movie?

In light of all the posts about movies and series lately I am interested in hearing about my friends preference. Many have already steered me toward some great shows here. I recently discovered on Netflix they have started a great series called Anne with an E, which is based on Ann of Green Gables. I watched the whole first season last night, unable to stop since indigestion was killing me anyway. Lol. Then there is Tale of the handmaid on Hulu, very good and much like the book. these days they seem to be making shows more like the books if not better! I wish they would base a series on Angelique. here in USA in English language so I could enjoy that. They already have movies in France of the books. Back in the 70's there was several books I read of the series. I devoured every one as soon as I could get it. It was translated to easy to read english here. what one would you like made from a book?

@Hatley there is a series made. but can't remember what channel it was on. maybe do a search or see if someone can get it at the library to play on your pc. since you don't have a television.

Truthfully....none. I don't think it's possible for Hollywood to be faithful to a novel anymore. What makes the money? Action. Blow this up, bell that up, loud music, and a few more explosions between the credits. Someone posted a discussion earlier today, stating that friends find The Godfather a boring snooze-a-thon. People my age, who see the brilliance of that film, aren't the ones that Hollywood makes movies for anymore. The video game generation is the one making money for Hollywood, and they don't want anything that's not more or less a duplication of a video game. What book provides that? Signed, a cynical middle-aged fart.

@bunnybon7 You know, I think someone did make a movie of my favorite book, Three by Ted Dekker, but it wasn't nearly as good as the book.

@1creekgirl often they are not as good as the book but some really turn out as good if not better as you can see more of what it is really like. these days as specially they show a lot of what history things were really like where books don't describe at times the whole situation.

well see thats the thing. not all good books have been made to movies yet and many should be. there is a lot of good material out there instead of some of the crazy stuff sometimes made these days that is hard to understand.

The books are always better than the movies. There are many books which have been made into movies but unfortunately by doing so we lost certain details

@bunnybon7 i will have to agree to that too. In fact the 13 reasons series is a good one. Both the series and the book are good. It is just that I recently watched the movie ''Girl on a Train'' but was a bit disappointed. You are right. We cannot generalise

Are you talking about Angelique by Sergeanne Golon? Angelique and the King, etc. I loved that series and yes I always though it would make a great movie with Catherine Deneuve as Angelique at the time.

I want The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks to be made into a movie. It's possible since most his books do but this one particular because it has the romance like normal but also is more creepy and like a thriller. It's sad, happy, scary and funny it'd be a good one

Finders Keeper by Stephen King would make a good movie. Plus, I've read plenty of good stories from indie authors that I feel would be a good fit for the bigscreen.

that was wonderful. isn't there one by that author called, "mysterious beasts and where to find them?" anyway, it would be good to have more but Harry is grown, so it would have to be his son or something. i wish they would write more on Hunger games with more movies. too

I wonder if there are movies based on Covert One (1) series by Robert Ludlum and other authors. The story revolves around a special elite unit headed by the president himself a few people who so good in their work. The team works around the clock to beat terrorists who happen to be seemingly smart people who are just within reach-- a game of wits. It also touches the CIA operations around the world.

yes they have made a lot of great movies from Stephen King also. i just think there are some more classics they could go with instead of making over ones that have already been made
