That Moment When...What Was That?!

Yes, my ears are slightly blocked from this, well, head cold that I seem to have, I will not think about it, I will take my medication and go on with my day! But, I digress, could be the medication, the "What was that?!" In my title is what my sister shouted, when...
I thought I heard a quite loud BANG in the distance Wednesday night after 21:00 . But as I said, I am blocked up and so everything is slightly less clear. But my sister says even if it was quite a distance away, it was very loud...
And Thursday morning when my sister got to work she was told that a squatter camp quite close to us was holding protests and that they set a truck on fire. Yes, they set a truck on fire, just like that, and that was the loud BANG! The truck going KABOOM! So that was the "What was that?!".
I am setting out this discussion today (Friday) because my nights are just too busy. But yes, there I was drying and packing away dishes, all domesticated, when in the distance KABOOM! Interesting times in different parts of the world these days, huh?
I would have said I hope everyone has a blast this weekend, but, uh, will say that I hope everyone has a calm weekend instead!
Photos are of my sis and I.

Thank you dear Dianne .
Yes, it was all so unnecessary @DianneN . Many are not getting what they want, but if everyone set something on fire when they didn't get what they wanted, there would be nothing left in anyway. Thank you. Many hugs back!

Both of you are pretty! I go through ear blocks too when the cold hits me. It's annoying! I do the oldnosepinch trick to open my blocked ears. Hope you feel better.

@bluesa I am not sure whether you know how to do it? In case you don't, close your mouth, close your nose with your finger and thumb and breath out through your nose. Try it a few times, you will feel "pop" noise in your ear. This is the sound of ear getting unblocked. Don't use too much force though!

A bomb went off when I landed at Istanbul airport to me it sounded like a little pop but my hearing friends told me it was a massive explosion when I asked what all the fuss was about! I empathise with you!

Eek, Gary, what a welcome to Istanbul, you all had! Yes, but maybe it is good we could not hear the full force of it @garymarsh6 . Goodness knows a person can only take so much before nerves get shot.

That is a blast I would not like to experience. I hope the cold is gone and your ears are working properly now. I got worried for a few minutes when I heard gunfire the other night and then realized with was fireworks for Victoria Day ( Canada's Memorial Day).
