Windy And Dusty

Hi all, I have been gone for a while on a camping trip and I'm exhausted. Camping is hard work. We had fun though, my oldest son came with us and we caught a ton of fish. It was really warm the whole time we were gone and no rain, so that's always a plus. We have been home for 2 days now and wow it's so windy. Very warm in the upper 80's and howling windy. I went to the store yesterday and I live in a town surrounded by corn fields. Some of the fields are already planted and some are not. Well I wanted to go to a store in the next town so I drive the back roads along all these corn fields. It looked like the dust storm from long ago. You could see the dust flying through the air it was that bad. I have dusted my house 5 times in the 2 days I have been home. Dust everywhere inside my house. I washed the counter tops and 2 hours later they are filthy with dust from the fields. Today it looks like the wind has calmed down considerably and it's really cooled down as well. At least 40 degrees. I now have the all the windows closed as it's only 47 currently. Yesterday afternoon it was 87. What the heck is up with this weather? Photo from Pixabay

We're having hot weather here in Pennsylvania. Its been a bit windy which blows around the pollen and I've been coughing and sneezing for days. My house gets very dusty too and I hate dusting

Did you take this picture? When I lived in Iowa and Kansas we used to get a lot of dust storms also. They were nasty to deal with.

@fishtiger58 I used to live in Markham, Illinois many years ago. How far is that from where you live? I remember standing in the front yard watching tornado in the next town.

That picture reminds me of the sandstorm we had last week when those stupid bugs were blown into my yard, I hate sandstorms but it's that time of year. As for dusting, yep, happens here all the time and vacuuming as well, it's a never ending battle against the dust and sand.

I could have shut my windows but didn't want to turn on the air, and now the last 2 days it's been in the 40's and rain.

@LadyDuck Does all the snow melt in the Alps in the spring and summer or is there always some snow up there?

I heard some areas of the US are also getting snow, doesn't make sense. The weather has been strange for at least the past 20 years or so.

Mother Nature has been off her meds this year. We have had 90 degree weather and now it is 50 degrees. It will make it close to 70 today. Hoping it will tip over the mark and give us a nice day. The winds have been unreal. Heavy storms left many without power too.

@fishtiger58 It is going to be cool here on Sunday and maybe the rest of today..but the humidity is so high, it really isn't pleasant. IF all this mess would clear out it would be nice.

@fishtiger58 That explains it. I never open windows. We actually took most of the screen out since we don't need them.

Glad to were finally able to get away to go camping and had such great weather. I know how much you love it. I wouldn't like those dust storms! Wow! My hubs is hosing off the pollen that settled on the cars, and my cleaning lady is doing her thing. It's been sunny and glorious this week, just what I love. Hope it warms up again for you, and enjoy that fish!

@fishtiger58 We humans have messed up the weather. It was about 68 degrees yesterday and cloudy. Today it started off in the 40s and became sunny and hot. Crazy! At least that awful dust is gone, thank goodness!

I agree about the weather. We had 80's two days in a row and then it dropped twenty degrees. My body went into shock. Not sure if I had the flu or what the last two days. I felt like a mac truck hit me. Every bone in my body hurt and I was cold and not even a hot shower could warm me up. Today we still have colder temps, but I'm feeling back to normal. So maybe it was seasonal shock on my system. Expecting rain this afternoon and from the look of the sky it could happen any moment now.

Most lakes have limits to how many you can keep every day. Sometimes we keep a few to eat but mostly we throw them back to grow another day.

Dust-storms are terrible things. The dust gets through any small openings and the house always looks shocking after a dust-storm.
