@spaceseed My perception of India is that it is hot and steamy and I'm afraid that puts me off visiting. But maybe one day....

yes, there is one more alternative, since my father's has got reservation. I can give my luggage to him. and I can sit in general class.

@Bodyandbrain no for me only. but problem seems to be over now as today we have decided to go on some other train. which is more likely to have some seats vacant.

there is one more train, but that reaches at night. and from railway station at village to reach home is slightly troublesome
