Strangest Loaf of Bread I Have Ever Seen

My husband likes to cook and to bake; I do not. He does bake bread once a week for himself since the only bread I eat is store-bought wheat bread. I have to say that particular loaf of bread is the oddest loaf of bread I have ever seen. It looks like a fat tummy with a belly button to me. He said he let it rise a bit too long. As I was giggling over that strange-looking bread, my husband replied, "I don't make bread, I make art." My husband's art is of the weird kind, apparently.

Great recipes have often be created like this. It makes me think at a tourteau fromager, a kind of cheese cake invented in the 19th C when an artist like your husband forgot a cheese cake in the oven. When burnt, it stays inflated and tastes better.

Oh my. That is one whopper of a cheese cake. Perhaps this loaf of unusual bread created by my husband will have a taste that is more delightful than ordinary white bread.

@Corbin5 Maybe he has created a superior bread really good These cheese cakes look like this inside. You know that you succeeded when you see a lot of smoke and a bad odor coming from the oven.

@topffer That cheesecake does look delightful. I will definitely use the lots-of-smoke and bad-odor method from now on!!!!

Oh, he will still eat it, but I wonder if the taste is compromised due to it being overly chubby?

@AbbyGreenhill I just asked him. He stated, "It tastes like all the other bread he has made and it is free of huge bubbles in it."

I do all the cooking for us as well. I used to make different kinda of bread until my Bread Machine stopped working. I think it got a yeast infection.

It looks like a puffy bread in the house. I had seen a different bread in Tajikistan called "naan." Image Credit: http://life.ansor.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/non_tojiki.jpg

Well, your granny made some mighty tasty bread since my husband said it tastes great. However, a slice of it has the shape of a bunny rabbit.

@Corbin5 Speaking of bunny rabbits, when my Mom was a cook in a restaurant, she use to make pancakes for the kids that looked like all kinds of critters.

This bread is similar to our traditional and ritual Bulgarian breads. They are connected with our Bulgarian traditional culture that has been lasted here for ages.

This is weird. I bake bread every week, the longer you let it rise and the best the bread usually is. I think he used too much yeast and took out the loaf from the oven too early.

@Corbin5 I have never seen one like this. Two of my uncles were bakers, in the old times, the bread was left to rise during all the night and it was so much better.
