Yes, that is what I read about late last night online. I did a double take when I saw the head line. It seemed kind of freaky, but it is true. A father and son illegally were smuggling and selling sea cucumbers here in the US and selling them to Asian Markets because they are a delicacy in Asian countries. A person can buy and sell sea cucumbers if they have the proper permits and operate in the right season. What these guys did wrong was that they bought 13 million dollars of illicitly harvested sea cucumbers and they imported it into the US and sold them to the Asian Countries for 17.5 million dollars. They hid their actions by falsifying documents. I looked up sea cucumbers and they are really kind of ugly and fat and round and long. It grossed me out to think they are a delicacy in some areas of the world.

@MALUSE I am still unsure what links and photos are allowed, so sometimes I do not add a photo Is it if we give the credit to the photographer or the story that we can use it on mylot ?

@shebish You can check on the site 'Wikimedia Commons' or try to find another site with free photos. When the name of the photographer is given, you can mention it together with the name of the site where you've found the photo. At least this is the way I do it.

We eat (or better said "ate") ,any seafood that has been harvested until they are almost extinct Those people should spend some time in jail besides paying a huge fine. Mothing can be done if someone kills part of the animals on earth.

Wow well how foolish of them as now they are going to have fines to pay and will have less money then they started with and a bad reputation to boot.

It seems the sea cucumber is a lucrative illegal buisness although crimes doesn't pay in this case.

That sounded like a very complicated smuggling ring I am glad they were caught , too much is taken from our Oceans and Sea`s the rules that are in place to protect them are there for a good reason.
