Suicide of A Child

I read in the paper about an eight year old boy who hanged himself. It's hard to imaging a child that young would even know how to hang himself. And what could be so bad that a young child would take his own life. He had wrapped a cord around his neck and hanged himself from a door knob. Those poor parents must be in such agony wondering what they did wrong and how they could have prevented it. The article didn't say if there were siblings. There will be more later I would think. The death was being investigated.

It is always sad to see the news like that. I think for such a little child, he may not suffer a heavy study pressure. And we all want to know why he could do so because such kind of little child should not have such an idea. Is it because of Blue Whale? It is a horrible game and it seems it spreads globally.

This is heartbreaking. I was also bullied in school but I was able to handle the situation.

i cannot like a discussion like this because it is heart-breaking. maybe the boy was bullied by other boys? or he knew about a family problem that is why with his young mind, he can no longer endure the pain?

@RubyHawk It's so hard to understand what goes through the mind of one so young. They don't understand how the world really is and they can only behave as their brains tell them to. And yes, he was obviously suffering way too much to bear any more. And that just breaks my heart.

That is very heartbreaking. But the parents shouldnt (although im sure they are), blame themselves. As parents can only do so much, and it depends on if the kid ever gave hints to anything being wrong.

That is so sad. Why would a kid do that? They were still young to have that much problem but then there are some challenges in family. Maybe having a tough time in school and family.

How tragic. Sometimes there are no explanations. Maybe he was being cyber bullied or bullied in some way. I can't imagine an 8 year old doing this either.

That was so sad,the boy might be in great trouble and afraid to be punished by his parents.The son of my friend, 16 also hanged himself because his father punished his son in front of his classmates, so he went home and hanged himself using his blanket in his bedroom. He tied it to the window and jumped HORROR! Until this time the father's conscience tortured him.
