It was a great finale in IPL10 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rising Pune Supergiants(RPS). MI made a stunning comeback to beat RPS by just 1 run, and the match ended on the last ball. Initially, MI were restricted by RPS, owing to good bowling by RPS bowlers. Some late charge by Krunal Pandya(47 off 38 balls) with 3 fours and 2 sixes helped MI close at 129 for eight in 20 overs. Initially, inspite of the loss of a quick wicket, RPS looked comfortable as Ajinkya Rahane and captain Steve Smith(the current Aussie captain) were in full charge. However once Rahane went for 40 plus score, run rate dipped. Lasith Malinga and other bowlers kept scoring low. Later, Jasprit Bumrah scalped 2 wickets in his over, including of M.S.Dhoni. In last over, Mitchell Johnson was hit for a four by Manoj Tiwary of the first ball. However, in perhaps an act of nervousness and excitement combined, Manoj Tiwary and then Steve Smith fell to catches in the deep when they could have gone for singles. Johnson's two wickets changes the equation completely. 4 runs were needed on the last ball. Dan Christian and Washington Sundar tried to run for more runs after running for 2 runs, but there was a run out and Pune team finished at 128 for 6. A loss by 1 run- I can imagine how heartbroken must have Pune felt. Yet a great entertainer for the cricket fans! Pune stifled Mumbai Indians to 129 for 8 riding on commendable bowling effort. But Mumbai defended that brilliantly.

@amnabas it was really exciting- the last ball finishes are so nerve wrecking and exciting- do you remember the 1999 semi-final between Aussies and South Africa, when Lance Kluesner was at crease and Allan Donald ran out! And we had some very close finishing matches between India and Pakistan as well!

@just4him I was neutral during the contest. However my favor had started going to the losing team of Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS ).

Yes @ilocosboy it was an edge of the seat thriller. I was watching the last ball, sitting totally still and could imagine how nervous and excited the players on the field would have been!
