Apparently there was an explosion at an Ariana Grande Concert in Manchester. I saw it on my newsfeed as I have British Medieval History liked on fb... 19 people are confirmed deceased and 50 more are injured.... How terrible!

We are failing big time in coexistence. All material and scientific progress stymied by predatory primordial human instinct of hatred - siva

I fear for our future existence on this planet because of all of the hatred this world holds.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We hardly have made much progress in terms of live and let live and, sadly, the killing reach has multiplied exponentially. We still believe in fighting hatred with weapons and not with peaceful overtures! Politicians can never change their destructive ways - siva

@Shiva49 I believe that a lot of politicians want to create wars... I fear for what Trump will do to my country because of his wishy washy ways.

I saw this on Facebook. Former Mission guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite posted about it. How sad.

It's horrible! I've read that ISIS has taken responsibility for it.

I am so tired of this terrorist crap. I know everyone is. I wish these losers would simply blow themselves up, and leave the innocent alone.

I agree!! Leave the innocent alone! The victims... they had to be mostly young. Just terrible! How terrified they must've been and still are.

@ScribbledAdNauseum ......There's one mother on the news that said she hadn't been able to find her daughter yet. Has checked all of the hospitals and nothing. Horrible.

@celticeagle I couldn't imagine the pure panic that they are facing. There are several tourists that had been trying to find their parents, or their children...

I am keeping up to date through the guardian at the moment... I might turn on my VPN and see if I Can't connect with a news source for live updates from the UK itself. It is a horrible thing that has happened. So many lives lost or forever changed, and so many of them young as well. I've read that ISIS has taken responsibility.

Unfortunately right now 22 are confirmed deceased, I hope there will be no others, but I fear that some of the injured will not make it.

It is horrible! I have not yet found the update on the numbers yet but I do hope it will not increase. You are right though, there may be a few that won't survive their injuries. I've read that ISIS claimed responsibility.

@LadyDuck I am saddened by the event, but I do wonder why it didn't occur here in the US. Trump is away right now, after all. I guess that's a morbid way to look at it, and I shouldn't speak of it as it could still happen...

From what I heard it could have been worse. I think they think he was in the foyer. The destruction if he'd been inside the Arena doesn't bear thinking about. Life is full of sadness. :(

The foyer where parents were waiting for their children? If I remember correctly (from what the news showed) that is not too far from the train station entrance otuside of the main venue.

I've sort of grown up with terrorism in a way. From the ira to aq to isis. This is very different as it target kids and families. People are very angry here.

I think the world over are outraged by the attack on such a young group of kids. The last I heard, the youngest victim was 8 years old.

@Mike197602 I don't really know much, if anything, about what potential citizens have to go through in the UK to get residency... I am not defending the politics behind the system of immigration there, but a terrorist is going to find any means possible to attack a country, regardless of legal status. That doesn't mean more can't be done to get the background behind potential residents, but for the real determined, I don't believe it would be a hindrance or deterrant.

@ScribbledAdNauseum mad isn't it...I'm pretty mad too The guy guy has been named in a number of publications and that is making me more mad. I'm no right wing nut but I'm thinking our current system is f*cked as we let these b"stards into the country and they do this.

Most of the victims are teenagers because we know Arianna have a huge teenage fanbase. Her mother got traumatized by the incident after seeing all of the victims.
