Latest terrorist attack targets English tweens and teens!

You've probably heard that there was another terrorist attack in Europe last night, this one at a concert by a bubblegum singer named Ariana Grande. I'd never heard of Ariana Grande, but apparently her audience is tweens and teens, meaning that the terrorists intentionally targeted children. This attack occurred at an "arena" concert, with something like 20,000 young people in attendance, in Manchester England. Last I read, 22 were dead and 59 were wounded. There were bolts and nails in the suicide bomb, meaning that the intent was to maim those who weren't killed. Of course, leaders use terms like "cowardly" and "disgusting" to describe the attacks, but it appears were are dealing with a sub-species that has an entirely different value system than the one we take for granted in the Western and Eastern worlds. It's difficult to deal with such an enemy, especially as they live among us.

What infuriates me is that Britain is still intent on seeking political solutions, despite the constant repetition of such incidents. You cannot solve problems of this nature by arranging a banquet and talk in some fancy hotel in Paris or Brussels.

@TheHorse it is pretty much confirmed as isis have done a statement and there were some tweets PRIOR to the bombing hinting at what was going to happen.

Ariana Grande was on the Nickelodeon series Sam and Cat and launched a singing career from that.

Ah, OK. Can she actually sing? Or is it that typical overproduced pretend-sexy Britney Spears kind of thing?

@JohnRoberts I listened to one of her videos. Typical garbage music, but she seems to sing on key.

@TheHorse I have seen her act and in commercials but don't recall hearing her sing. She looked like a normal young woman on the TV series but she wears a ton of makeup. Probably just another teeny bopper singer.

I found this more devastating than most members here would since I live in Manchester. So far I have no idea whether any friends or relatives of friends have been affected directly by this, as probably applies to most people here. Large areas are still cordoned off and there is a blatant sombre aura across the whole city.

@TheHorse Due to the ensuing mayhem, plus the fact that hundreds of people required treatment for minor injuries, many missed transport and became stranded. Dozens of local car owners offered free transport home to anyone in such a situation.

I hope people in Manchester bond together. These are sub-humans in human bodies. I don't know how they came to exist.

@Mike197602 My goodness, they are even more crazy than I thought. I wonder why this hate. We do not care of their religion and they should not care about what we do. I think the religion is an excuse anyway.

no, in this instance they deliberately targeted kids and teenagers. They've done their research and they've seen her followers are primarily teens and have deliberately done this. The isis statement said "we've killed your children"...this was deliberate.

@LadyDuck just heard they've released the name 22 year old salman Abedi.
The Mayor of Manchester spoke out following the attack which left 22 dead.

I had never heard of her but apparently she is popular with young children and teenagers. How sick is that it was intended to hurt so many children.

It is strange. They are mocking those who have any values, including those who would protect the lives of children.

The gloves need to come off. Nearly 1000 British people fighting for isis. They need to be killed over there before they can come back here. I'm hearing education, integration and blah blah blah and I've had enough of it Time politicians over here recognised the issues and stop with the PC crap.

I agree absolutely. If these people get caught and convicted they are provided food, clothing and heating that many pensioners cannot afford. What kind of deterrent is that?

@TheHorse We all live on the earth, and can only do our best - and we can make changes for oursellves and others to some extent, but we need God's help, as he plans to change everything on the whole earth.. Daniel 2:44 (see jw.org.. for more)

@TheHorse It could be many motives. I could think of a few questions also. Have they been taught to hate? Are they seeking revenge? Have they been victims of injustice? Do they think that they are helping a cause? Are they retaliating to oppression?

The minute I heard about it I thought of all my Nephews and Nieces but they are all safe thank goodness. Its heart wrenching to hear about some of the stories coming out of all this. News here did not cover it very well but today its been on most of the time. Condolences to all that have lost family and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

It's making me want to buy more ammo. I tend to avoid crowds anyway, though. Except for baseball games. If they do a baseball game, I'm not going to be passive any more.

@Courtlynn I am a good psychologist, and have had interesting conversations with schizophrenics. I am sometimes able to follow their "logic." But I can't fully understand a mind that wants to sacrifice themselves to destroy teenagers.

It makes me so nervous when my grandchildren go to these large venues. I know they can't stay home but it's sad that the world we live in today has become so unsafe. I'm familiar with Ariana Grande since I have young granddaughters and they listen to her music.

It's not good music, but that doesn't mean that kids should be killed for listening to it. Bad music is a problem everywhere, and I'm NOT being facetious.
