In 16th of September 2010, it was the day of my departure going to Tajikistan. It was my first time to have a solo travel across the border. The air trip took almost 24 hours from the Philippines to a small country in Central Asia. I had my connecting flights to Qatar, Turkey and finally, to Dushanbe, Tajikistan without a visa. It was a long flight that I can’t even read the immigration booth in Dushanbe airport.
It must be a jet lag but I was able to obtain my visa in the airport. As I passed through the immigration booth, a taxi driver was holding a placard with my complete name in it. He can't speak English and sign language works at that time. While I am sitting beside the driver’s seat, the driver gave me a long folder. I had checked it and read a welcome letter from the international organization.
I stopped browsing the folder’s content and wanted to take a rest. It was just about 5 minutes to reach the volunteer house and finally, I can able to have a quick nap.
The photo was taken on 17th of September 2010. It was my first bed away from the Philippines.
This post is aiming to show the beauty of Tajikistan through photo threads.
“Do you want to explore Tajikistan?”
“How do you beat jet lag?”
“Did you ever feel wear out traveling for long hours?”

It was a tiring travel especially if it is on connecting flights. I really enjoyed the beauty of Tajikistan. I had stayed in the capital of Tajikistan for a week. I need to have orientation and learn the basic Tajik language from a tutor while staying in the volunteer house.
I had enjoyed this volunteer house garden while studying the Tajik language. I feel like I am in my homeland.

I am trying to make a thread of photos. But I think it will end one photo per discussion. It seems not appealing to mylotters.lol
I will show you my first ever winter season in this country.lol I took the photo of Kurgan Teppa's local park at the back of my apartment's balcony.

@hereandthere At first, I was so excited seeing the snow. After a week, I started hating it. I usually stay in the middle part of my apartment. I have a portable heater in the room.

I guess I am not used to traveling by air.lol I hope you will enjoy the photos. I had stayed in Dushanbe the capital of Tajikistan for a week. Eventually, I had explored the city as the months go by in the year 2010 to 2011.
While exploring the capital on foot, I had seen this Opera House. I never tried to enter the building. Some artists do some stage performances and viewed by the Tajik people.

During that time, it was only the bed that I had seen for the first time. I haven't seen much because it was too early in the morning. But then, I managed to explore the volunteer house. I had seen the first glimpse of the local people in Tajikistan from a calendar.
I felt amazed because they are wearing the Tajik traditional clothes. This is what they usually wear on their wedding day.

I was so happy to stay in the country for one year. My medical mission was successful. I had learned so many things in Tajikistan.
However, I find it weird that some fast food is like copying KFC to NYFC in the capital of Tajikistan.

Well, I think it is a great adventure for me. I can do my mission and explore the country as well. Some of the kiddies are so friendly. Perhaps they figured it out that I am a tourist and asked me to take a photo of them.

@MALUSE Most of the building structures are the remnants of the USSR in Tajikistan. There is no chance to explore the Presidential Palace. Some of the restaurants are newly designed in the capital, Dushanbe.
I really enjoyed in this place. I usually spend my time in this Coffee Bar.
