The return address said: Department of Homeland Security

When I initially read the return address on mail I received today I got a little concerned. After all I am a natural born citizen - don't tell me I am being deported from Tennessee back to - Ugh - New Jersey! Once I opened the envelope I realized it was time to renew my driver's license....what a relief. If I want a new photo for the license I would have to go to a state "Kiosk" - after checking the list the closest one is a few hours away. Cross that off....I'll go with the old photo. There are three options for that: * online * in person (at the courthouse in town) * mail I figured online would be the best way - so I went to the appropriate website and filled out all my information...to which they responded that I do not exist. Well darn, I was pretty sure I do! Since I have a few months before my license expires (and I don't drive anyway) I would use the mail option. My check and the form will go out in the morning. I sure hope when they get it that they find out that I do exist - and that they get that red tape issue fixed! Photo from Pixabay

I have experienced a lot of glitches in public online services. I do not have a driver license, but my husband renewed by mail.

@AbbyGreenhill It seems that this is a worldwide problem, I remember they said the same when I asked for a document for my Mom, they said she does not exist.

@LadyDuck Since I don't exist then if they ask about me I'll tell them I am 30, tall, blond, blue eyes!

I have renewed the car's registration online w/o issue - what gets me is that they said I don't exist!

Mailing it in was easy - just write out a check, which I should have done first!

Yipes. Never received anything from them. Now, my mother--she's from the planet Canada (a certified Alien) so I keep waiting for them to come for her one of these days...

@AbbyGreenhill LOL--she's not on here, and besides, I joke about her "alien status" and how she should look out for the "Men in Black" all the time.

I was wondering about the meaning of the red tape and found out at the end of the post. I am pretty sure that you exist!

Haha. It will be pretty funny if you're still non-existent. You'll be able to do whatever you like.

Kinks like that in the system always anger me. I hope it is fixed soon.

It is nice that we have the option of not having to go somewhere to renew, isn't it @AbbyGreenhill
