Do You Drink Tea or Coffee?

United States

The English have a delightful tradition of having “TEA” in the afternoon with family and friends, sometimes. Even some workplaces in England stop for tea, which creates a better work atmosphere, I think. The conversation at “tea time” is no doubt, more important than the tea itself, because it allows some time to build relationships, an important aspect of a happier life. In the USA, there are hundreds of Coffee Bars and Tea Rooms in the bigger towns and cities. Friends linger over their coffee break, drinking a huge variety of premium coffee selections or tea. A person SHOULD be able to take a few minutes every day, to just relax and enjoy some pleasant conversation with your spouse or with workmates or friends. What do YOU think?

I drink both also. Lately on very hot days I've been ordering a caramel frappe, an iced coffee from McDonalds. I'm sure it has a lot of sugar though, so I don't indulge very often.

I don't often drink the tea unless I am in the restaurant. Usually they will offer tea as one of their service. I like to drink coffee much more because I like to add sugar and milk to my coffee and therefore it tastes well. And most of all, a cup of coffee will make me feel energetic all the time. That's nice for me.

My daughter likes green tea. I don't care for it much, but I understand that it is a healthy choice.

I really love tea. Sometimes I have some coffee but most of the day I drink tea. I would much rather have a conversation over tea than coffee.

@IreneVincent My hubby is the one who likes to put sugar in his drinks. Not too much but he needs the sweetness. I drink my tea with no sugar. I just plain like the taste of tea. Where I need a lot of sugar is in coffee because it seems so bitter to me and so I don't drink it too often. Way back when I had a habit of drinking black coffee not sugar nothing now I cannot drink it that way.

Neither a hot tea or coffee drinker. Yes, tea time is an institution in some countries.

It can definitely be nice to take time to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. It's a nice relaxing thing to do. Being able to go to a coffee shop or something.

I like this too. I like small locally owned coffee shops. And we have quite a few around town here.

Are you originally from the EAST? I don't hear the word "pop" too often. Usually, people say coke or soda.

I drink both tea and coffe ,It depends on my mood and who I drink it with. It remines me and old song:

Yes, it's interesting how cultures differ in their favorite choice of drinks. I guess it's mostly how grow up and what your parents always drink. Then you adopt their choice. Usually.
