Walkin' in the Rain

I had to go for bloodwork this morning. Fasting bloodwork. As I've said many times, it's so easy for me to fast for bloodwork and yet to stop eating at a certain time at night is almost impossible at other times. I don't understand it. Obviously, it's all in my head and not in my stomach! So, I got up at 9am with the alarm. I did not use the rest room since I knew they needed urine as well as blood. I got dressed, got my paperwork and headed right out the door. The lab is across the street, so it wasn't a long walk for me, but probably the longest walk I've taken in a while. And, of course, it was raining. But I got there and everything went smoothly. I got back home and made my coffee right away! Now I'm relaxing and getting a few things done around the apartment before I decide if I should take a short nap or not! Claudia

It is nice to have that over and done - now you can concentrate on enjoying your day.

I think probably that many of us are the same way where we can not eat or drink for testings but I have a hard time not eating at night myself. I can't speak for everyone else because some have gotten that part down and don't let themselves eat anything past a certain time.

@CRK109 When I'm home I've been pushing myself to have my treats earlier. But then, I want something later. Sometimes I can say no to myself and other times not so much. If I want to lose the weight I gained I need to begin getting sterner with myself. I may quit buying some of the good stuff for a month and see if that helps. I'm considering doing atkins again, I've been successful twice before but it doesn't help when goodies are about.

I hate admitting that I love eating late at night! Worst time to do it, so of course I love it then! I truly am a child stuck in this much older body!

It was raining too for me going to the hospital for more tests. Glad to be home again, like you.

Our local doctor schedules blood work for anywhere between 8 am and 8::45 - I can live that long with eating LOL We usually then go across the road to the little cafe in town for pancakes.

We don't have to schedule blood work. We go wherever we want at any time that's good for us, which is nice. And since the lab is right across the street, it's very easy to go and get the blood work done and come back home! So much better than what I used to have to do!

@CRK109 We go twice a year for follow-u visits and they schedule the blood work one week prior to that date so that they get the reports back in time for our visits. That way it's easier for everyone.

You said it might be raining!! I would have had to go to the loo when I got up - unless I'd been just a few hours earlier. I'd never have made it otherwise.

How nice it was just across the street, I have to use the restroom as soon as I get up as I rarely wake up in the middle of the night to do so, I could not have waited so I had what they needed. Yikes lol.

That's why I went right out the door. I knew they were close and I could easily handle the task as soon as I got there! lol

I got my blood work done this morning as well. I got a call from the doctor's office about my meds a couple days ago and they scheduled an appointment for me for next Tuesday since it's been over a year since I saw him. They also needed labs done, so I called them this morning and went right over since I hadn't eaten yet when I called them.
