Hello MyLot, I haven't been on here as much as I would like recently, and thought I would share with you why. As you may have guessed : the air is attacking me currently. That's right, yours truly is under a case of allergies. Just call me Sniffles McGee over here. My friend, Doug, came up to give me some plants to put in my garden, yesterday. (Kale, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, onions- that is what he gave me but I will plant more.) I always enjoy Doug, but the allergies made the day a little harder. Then on to the bar bingo game my parents and I like. Also I recently ventured back into online dating. 4 years without a date is a long time. Didn't take me long to remember why I hate online dating. The first thing I noticed was that his pictures were pictures of pictures of himself. As in he had taken framed photos off the wall, laid them down, and took a picture. There photos are YELLOW with age and what they reveal is a nice looking man in his 20s - with a 1960s-1970s era haircut and clothes. So, I have nothing against age. We are all aging, right? And none of us were given a choice as to when we would like to be born. But that said - if I were to meet this man in person I would be meeting him NOW and not hopping in my spiffy nifty time machine to meet his 20 yr. old self. So my first thought was "show me a picture of you, now". Followed quickly by "Why not look for a nice lady in your own age group, rather than someone 30 years younger?" Well, he messaged me - it was late at night. I would like to interject here that I far prefer longer e-mail style of communication to the let's chat all night method of communication. But I digress. Back to the story. So conversation was ... alright I guess. He's recently retired and newly divorced. We talked about how lonely he is after his divorce and I asked a few questions probably something like "what do you do for fun?" And shortly there after - seeing as it was late... I went to bed. So got up next day and saw that I had a bunch of messages from him. So it turns out that he likes outdoor activities, living life to the fullest and trying new things. This content is followed by a ton of ?????????? 's So I wrote him back. It irritated me. Maybe it shouldn't. But I have a job, things I do, family and friends. I am not this man's divorce counsellor, nor do I owe him anything. I Wrote : ?????????????????? - Please understand that I work and that my chat time is limited as the site's messenger doesn't work on my phone. OF COURSE he was online and OF COURSE he answered INSTANTLY. He said something like: I understand.... but.... you didn't answer me after I told you! I had to stifle an eye roll. What I wanted to reply: Wow. Do you expect applause or the world to stop or something? Hey everyone! So and so like the outdoors and living life to the fullest! Call Guinness book! Gold star sticker for you! Seriously? Quite acting like a 6 or 7 year old instead of the 60 or 70 year old that you are. But there is a part of me that feels bad for him too, since this whole ordeal is ... in a word - pathetic. So I was brief, I told him it was a great idea to live life to the fullest and told him I had to go. Of course he kept right on messaging me. If he doesn't get the hint I will block. So My lot, that is my adventures for now. In between blowing my nose. Stupid tree pollen. Hope you all are doing well I look forward to reading about your lives as well. Photo: Mine

@FayeHazel - That's possible. I once got into a four year relationship from an online date.

@teamfreak16 - that's pretty awesome, actually. Maybe I'll try again. At least I'll have funny stories if nothing else

I agree with you online dating is not much fun. Also, you are not sure what the person is like in real life if you do meet them.

So true -- it's very easy to present another side of yourself when online

Aw, I'm sorry to hear you didn't have any better luck, either. I don't want to give up yet, but it seems like the wisest choice after all

You are missed, So, it's good to see you back. Allergies are awful, I hope you have something you can take to lessen the symptoms a bit. @FayeHazel , I would rather have a tooth pulled than try online dating. I wish you all the best with that though. And this gentleman sounds a bit much, so do seriously consider blocking him.

Aw thanks! I missed you, too. So far I like Benadryl... but it does make a person sleepy, too. Ah, I see your point. Online dating has ended in nothing other than disaster. I find I turn to it when I feel desperate. Probably the wrong frame of mind to find someone.

He doesn't sound right for you. That's my opinion. Feel better. The pollen count has been very high this year.

I've heard this is going to be a bad year for pollen. I have sort of quit messaging him ... hate to be mean but hope he gets the hint

He doesn't seem the type to take a hint. You may have to block him eventually.

Hi Sniffles, No one wants to look at pictures of old men do they? But you're right. He is too old to be showing interest in a young chick like you. Even I am almost too old.

How odd to send out photos of his younger self. This isn't a good sign in my opinion.

It really makes me feel bad for him. There is nothing wrong with aging - show the world how you are now.... whole thing is pathetic in my opinion.

@FayeHazel oh I'm sure. As lots of people don't like being their age or dating those their age these days.
