I read this news from the CNN News online that India has set a HIGH tax on the sanitary napkins, causing an uproar among the womenfolks there. Seriously, I am wondering what the government is thinking here. Sanitary napkins is a necessity by fact and I don't know how in the world the tax authorities could consider taxing it highly like luxury goods. I cannot imagine what necessities will be taxed next - Flour? Rice? Potatoes? Reference http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/25/news/india/india-sanitary-pad-blood-tax-gst/index.html

It is a necessity, that is for sure. But, that also means that it is a item that will be used a lot. So I guess I can see both sides. Here they are thinking of taxing soda and candy. Ugh!

@celticeagle I wonder if it will be more expensive making it ourselves with the collateral damages from leaks and absorbancy problems.

@artemeis .....I can go the rest of my life without them. And, if I was going to be taxed I may just make them myself.
