Day 259 Proverbs 24:5 Proverbs 24:5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increases strength. 6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. Has anyone called you strong? What caused them to make that observation? Solomon observed that men of wisdom had strength only God could give, a strength of character, strength in the knowledge he gained from ordinary life. Strength that led him to wise counsel when it came to war with their enemies. Wisdom is strength, and when you use God’s wisdom you are stronger than those who think they’re strong but rely on their own counsel. Only fools rely on their own counsel. As Christians, your strength comes from the Holy Spirit who gives you the wisdom you need to do what God called you to do. 1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; (KJV) Whenever you see wisdom mentioned you also see knowledge. You can’t have one without the other. Wisdom allows you to see what you need to defeat your enemy. Your enemy is anyone or anything that stands in the way of what God has called you to do. With the knowledge you gain from wisdom, you can defeat your enemies, using God’s Word, and releasing God’s power in your life to come against Satan and everything he will put in your way to hinder you from the work God called you to do. Satan cannot stand against God’s Word. If you are a Christian, you are in full time war with Satan. He will come against you with anything he can, to turn you away from your course. However, wisdom brings knowledge, knowledge to defeat Satan, and cause him to flee from you. When Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan, he defeated him by the Word of God. When Satan realized he could not cause Jesus to sin, he fled from him, but he tried other ways to defeat Jesus, even having him killed, not realizing that Jesus’ death was his ultimate defeat and our salvation. Jesus operated in wisdom and the knowledge of God his Father. He showed us how to defeat Satan with the Word of God and wisdom. Knowledge is a powerful tool and you need to employ it all the time. It must be part of your lives, like the armor of God you put on every day, to ward off Satan’s attempts to turn you away from God. Tradesmen wear tool belts to do their work. They would not consider going to work without it strapped to their waist. Wisdom and knowledge are a Christian’s tools. With them you tear down Satan’s tactics and build a wall Satan cannot destroy, a wall built on the Word of God, so that when Satan comes against you, you have God’s Word on your tongue and in your heart and there is nothing Satan can do to you. Are you showing your strength today? Are you employing the tools God gave you, wisdom and knowledge, to defeat Satan? Let’s pray: Father, help me use the tools you gave me to destroy Satan’s tactics against me. Give me wisdom in everything I do, and the knowledge on how to do it. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Knowledge and wisdom comes only from him. Do you believe in divine healing or miraculous healing?

This past week I have been praying for strength against depression. Jesus has helped me. It seems to me that he takes my mind off the things that cause me stress and put them on Him and His will.

That's where they belong. We aren't meant to carry that load, though people do, me included. I'm very happy he's been helping you with your depression and stress.

Wisdom and strength comes from God through his Word. Delve into the Word daily and internalize it we can stand up to anything.
