Do you ever talk to yourself?

i will have to say, I do it way to much. I do something stupid, then I will tell myself that it was dumb what I did and I will ask myself why I did it. They say, that when you ask yoursself a question and can answer it, then there is something wrong. Well, in my case, I do answer sometimes, but then I am older too, so I blame my age for it. I have to blame something I guess. I think though that we all do that at different times, as we all wonder why we do things the way we do, and we tell ourselves that what we did was so lame. I try to avoid talking to myself to much though, but being alone, it is either myself or the dogs, and they certainly can't answer me except to bark back. I figure I come in here, then I will avoid talking to myself and will talk to all of you.

I do it a lot as well. I'll be going for walks by myself, and I'll just start talking to myself. I can't always help it.

@rosekiss Lol. I know what you mean. I still may sometimes talk to myself, if I'm in a room by myself.

@dodo19 Yea, so do I I think if I were still married, my husband would think I was going crazy, as if he never did. He talked to himself a lot when we were married.

You know, I think you are right, as it happens to me when I walk the dogs too. I will just be talking away, and no one else is around but me and them, and they just walk and don't pay me no mind. At home it is a different story though.

Yea, me too, more than I should, or more than normal anyway. Not sure what normal is anyway.

Of course I talk to myself, nobody else will listen to me. In fact, I often ignore me as well.

That is hilarious. I don't have anyone else to talk to either, except my dogs, and they can't talk back to me, so I might as well talk to myself.

Yea, that would make it seem ike you are talking to someone on the cell phone. I guess I need to do that too, so I don't look like I am going crazy talking to myself.

I have done it that way too, but it is still funny when I do it though,. My dog will hear me talking, and she thinks i am talking to her and will start wagging her tail and getting excited thinking I am talking to her, so she will bark back at me.

@Jdaw1985 I wish mine would stay curled up on the couch, but she has to know what I am saying all the time, even though she doesn't understan. It is funnhy though when she does bark at me though when I start talking. to myself.

I talk to myself all the time but not always out loud. My mom was famous for talking to herself and half the time I never knew if she was talking to me or herself.

Now, that is funny. It was probably embarrassing for her too. I know it would have been for me.

I have done both, and I often, think to myself why i did what I did.It is funny though, as I will talk to myself at anytime, and when I answer myself, that is way to funny.

When I am home alone I talk to myself. Not like question and answer conversation between two people. Just me voicing aloud what upsets me, gets me down, and anything else I want to get off my chest. Or if I want to make sense of things I am not sure about. I don't know if that makes me a crazy person, but if I were to talk to myself as if I am two people having a conversation, now that would make me crazy for sure.

Yep, that is the way I feel too. I have done the very things you have mentioned too. I ty to avoid doing it to much though, as it can become a habit talking to myself, so I will try to think about things in my mind and not say them out loud. At least if I think them and not say them, then my dog won't go crazy either.

I certainly agree there, as here we have peoople to talk back to, wheras living alone, we don't have anyone to talk to, unless we talk to ourselves.

All the time. I don't think answering ourselves makes us crazy or that there is something wrong with us but more if you are full blown arguing/fighting with yourself over something.

I have never done it to be motivated, and most of the time, I think I am doing it subconscioulsy. It is funny though when I start talking, and most of the time, the dogs think I am talking to them.
