A blisteringly hot day. I had an early appointment with my new doctor and hoped to finally get back on medication for my blood pressure. My doctor decided I need checking more with it and I have to wear a device that will check my blood pressure over a full 24 hours. I have to wait to receive it. I also have to get some blood tests done which I can't get until Tuesday because it is a bank holiday weekend. I got some shopping in and only realised later in the day that the lad on the shop till short changed me. As I had already left the shop I couldn't do anything about it. I gave my talk on pub signs at the community centre which again went very well though sadly I left my laptop behind on leaving and the centre is now closed so I can't recover it until after the bank holiday. Grrr. Arthur Chappell

Oh dear Arthur..do you have something you can get on the internet in the meantime? I am sorry you left it behind..that has got to be worrying and now a bank holiday coming up as well Gee now you have also to wear the monitoring device for blood pressure. Never heard of such a thing. Ah well hope they will give you the medicine again ... One has to be so careful on shops. I tell you Arthur, everytime I go to the shop here, I have to check my receipt as they nearly always short me. I get it fixed but I have to go to the counter to get it done. A pain. Good your talk on pub signs went well. Sorry all these things have happened.

Last time we visited my sister in our old home town we accidentally brought back my sister's laptop. I thought it was Vince's. Luckily she doesn't use it very often and it has now been returned to her. For someone like you, it must feel as though your right hand has been cut off.

@JudyEv yes it feels very like that - concerned by the lack of communication to recover it - the centre closed prematurely for the weekend, staff only communicate through the in-centre e-mail or phone - if they had found someone's insulin the same result could have happened

@JudyEv it is likely to be a regular occurrence too as they deal with lots of elderly people and people with special needs / disabilities

Glad your talk went well, but that's a drag leaving your laptop.

Well at least its safe till Tuesday. That sucks. What kind of tablet do you have? Do you have a keyboard attachment that makes it a little easier? the bank holiday does get in the way of things, doesn't it?

@thislittlepennyearns got my main computer back tonight thanks to a member of the community centre staff - my tablet is an ASUS chrome-book, lousy keyboard and not too compatable with my mostly windows based files
