What a week!

It's been a crazy, hectic week. First we were down a few people at work.. some folks took some vacation time. Mostly it wasn't too bad, but as you know when you're short staffed, and only have a staff of about a dozen to begin with.. the remaining staff have to pick up the slack. In my department there's me, an older guy who's been there too long, and a new guy who's been there 6 months and still doesn't have a clue what he's doing.. oh and he's ridiculously slow too! I never used to mind it but this week I minded. I'm already feeling the brunt of being down a person.. and this new guy isn't doing anything to help pick up the slack.. Ok, enough of my ranting.. So everyday after work this week I had something going on too.. baseball games, band rehearsals, an award ceremony, a bit of volunteer work.. I feel like I haven't had a moment to take a breath all week! To top it all off, we had a couple baseball games get cancelled due to rain, and I was so excited when they were cancelled.. but lo and behold they've been rescheduled so now the baseball season has been extended by another week! Here I thought we were nearing the end, but nope! We go until at least the 10th of June, and possibly longer if we make playoffs! OMG! Thankfully I have a long weekend without much of anything planned. We might go visit hubby's Aunt on Sunday, we have parades on Monday that the kids will be in, and we have a couple friends coming over for a bbq on Monday.. Then next weekend is going to be crazy! Next weekend is the High School Theater Awards and my son has been nominated for an award. He'll also be performing in the show, so he's got rehearsals down in the city (half an hour away) on Friday night and Saturday afternoon then all day Sunday. My other boys are rehearsing for a church play where they will have leading roles, and my youngest has to go straight from church to a birthday party in the city on Sunday.. Then I have to pick up the girlfriend of my older son and bring her and the rest of my family down to watch the awards show and hope my boy wins!! Our city is also putting on a huge food festival next weekend that I plan on visiting a few times during all my trips down there.. but parking is going to be a huge pain!
