Last week as a birthday treat we went to a restaurant in London in a grand hotel. I won't mention which one but it is quite an expensive place but it is a beautiful hotel.
When I saw Fish and chips on the menu I had to order that over and above anything else. So what turned up made me laugh as I could see the funny side to how it actually looked. I wonder if you agree with me it looks rather like a fried foot in batter?
I doubt I would actually eat a fried foot in batter but I must say it was simply delicious. The fish was nice and moist and the batter was nice and light.
Fish and chips are something that you can guarantee will be brilliant no matter where you eat it although it tastes so much better to eat it at the seaside.

I think it has something to do with the iodine and salt in the seaside air which makes the fish and chips taste so much better!

There is just something comforting eating them especially by the sea! This I would say is our national dish!

@garymarsh6 It is surely your national dish. Any kind of salt water fish tastes better eaten by the sea.

And avoid the seagulls that are quite horrible at dive bombing at times!

That is because you are a grown up and mature whereas my mental age is still at school boy level! I thought it very funny, hence the photo! In the words of my granddaughter (6) one day grand dad you will grow up!
