Bit of a scare

My second daughter gave me a bit of a scare. This morning, my girls had their ballet class. On the way home, we have to cross a busy intersection. Well, I'm crossing with them and my second daughter goes pretty far ahead of me and a little over where some cars should be.
Thankfully, no cars came up and she didn't get hurt. But I was so scared that a car was going to come up. And well ... I don't even want to think about what could have happened if a car had come up.
Once on the other side, I did raise my voice a little. Maybe a little more than I should have, but I was just really worried. I did explain that she had to stay close and it was just because I don't want anything to happen to them.
I am just relieved that nothing did happen.

I'm glad nothing happened and she's okay. In times of danger I have yelled at mine too, that's the only way to get through to them sometimes.

It's more scary thinking of what could have happened to your daughter if a car had come along. Thankfully nothing happened but you did right in scolding her and making her aware of the danger when crossing a road.

I am so glad she is safe. It would have been very scary. I hope she learned her lesson and won't do that again.

Crossing a street is a scary thing to do with children, even if they are old enough to do it on their own. I remember my kids holding my hand and yanking loose then taking off running. My heart stopped. They were fine, until I got to them. I gave them a tongue lashing.

@dodo19 things can happen so fast and I can't even fathom the worst happening, but unfortunately it can.

@ElusiveButterfly We may not like thinking about it, but unfortunately the worst can happen. Thankfully it didn't happen to us.

Thank goodness she is OK. You have to watch kids like a hawk for sure.

Fear prompts us to do things we might not otherwise do @dodo19
Of course they know you don't want anything to happen to them and will get over you raising your voice.

I would have done the same. You must have been so frightened. My mother was with me and my two sons at the zoo. My older son crossed the street by himself age age five. My mother went ballistic on him. Lesson learned. So happy your daughter was safe!
