As I am surfing the Internet this morning looking for some new and refreshing stories I am listening to one of my favorite classical piece of music. Tchaikovsky - Piano Concerto 1 - B Flat Minor I remember the first time that I heard it on our new Tv screen. I was transported in a special place. It was hard to come down from it after. Do you have a special music piece that you have adored since you were a child?

In recent times, that Andrea Bocelli classic "Time to say goodbye" transports me to a different place.

Never heard this one before. I love when Andrea Bocelli interprets Ave Maria. I cry most times.

@Kandae11 I loved Bocelli's "Time to Say Good-bye" except when he sang it with Sarah Brightman and she hung all over him. I didn't like her!

I am fond of a few Tchaikovsky operas, but do not really piano concertos.

@Asylum, I prefer piano concertos to operas in general. Of course there are exception.

@marlina It is a matter of personal preference. I can appreciate the quality of such pieces, but sadly they do not suit me.

@Asylum Everything in life is a matter of personal preference. I think it is the sum of our life experiences.

I was raised with a multi- music liking family. My mother loved the classical so yes I know the music, the name of it, NOPE. However my mother had this one album I remember by Floyd Kramer that she liked t listen to when everyone chose a song to play on the turntable,

I love Tchaikovsky, but something I remember I loved since I was a child is the "Sabre Dance" by Khachaturian.

I have to confess that I had no clue who it was when I read your comment. But I went and checked it on YouTube (of course, where else?) and then I recognized it right away.

Oh yes, Rossini's William Tell Overture. I first heard a snippit of it as a child when watching tv's The Lone Ranger. I searched for years in my childhood to find out the name of the piece and was delighted as a college music major to learn it was a tiny part of the larger overture. Then I learned the story the music is telling. It may seem sophomoric, mundane, or bourgeois to select this as my preferred choice when there are other, greater compositions by other greater composers whom I admire, but this overture was my first exposure to classical music and has remained a lifelong favorite.

I had, still have a childhood favorite. Actually I fell in love with this aria and opera while in high school by listening to this recording my father had. Mario Lanza - Che Gelida Manina from La Boheme.
Uploading Lanzas songs, the ones I have- sub rate and comment, thanks.
