The Missing Neighbors Saga Part 1

We have developed a pretty good friendship with our neighbors up the hill. They are the ones we got Harley from, and also the ones who loan us a lot of movies. Anyway that is besides the point of this post. Usually on Fridays when the husband/father gets off work he will come down to see us, see how our week went and shoot the breeze with the other half (which usually involves a couple beers). When four thirty rolled around Friday and he hadn't come down or sent a message or anything, I sent him a text to tell him that the other half had built sawhorses for him, and we had a tote full of tin cans for him. They take them to the scrap yard. Anyway there was no response to that text, and then four hours later when I checked to see if they were okay- because it's really odd not to hear back or see them especially on a Friday....no response then either. I let it be for the rest of the night, thinking maybe they went out to dinner, or something. Saturday monring rolled around, and usually he knocks on the door between seven and eight in the morning because he wants someone to hang out with. That didn't happen. So about noon we texted him again, just to see if they were okay. Nothing again. This was getting weirder and weirder. I had seen one of the sons for about two seconds when we came back from the grocery store, but hadn't seen either parent- or the other two brothers. Usually the littlest son will show up in our yard if he knows we are home. But even after that quick spotting of us coming back from the store, he didn't show. Then about six or six thirty last night a truck I didn't recognize showed up in the front yard, a guy got out saying that he worked with the husband/father, he said he had just stopped by the house to talk to him, and the door was open and the TV was on, but no one was home. We talked to the coworker for several minutes, he said that the husband/father was at work Friday, but he hadn't answered his phone or anything since. It was just as weird to him as it was to us that the door was wide open and the TV was on and nobody was home. When the coworker left I tried to call to see if maybe he had shown back up, or anything and nope. So.. we were all a little worried last night. The truck wasn't up there last night, so it's still a little weird/eerie/strange. I guess here in a little bit I will try to get ahold of them again.

@NJChicaa it was odd, but he finally came down thismorning and told us hes been working late and last night they went to a party and forgot to shut the door. They said they would try harder to check in more so we didnt worry so much.

@PaintsonSlate, well the kid wasn't there a little bit later, maybe he was with friends. I could of sworn that it was their truck i saw him poke his head out of. But maybe I was wrong. When I know more, I will update.
