What Excuse Will You Give?

I overheard a family member telling someone on the phone that he couldn’t call that person because he’s lost his phone... I'm not sure if it was the real reason but if it was you and you promised someone that you are going call and you forget, or don't really want to call, what excuse will you give if that person calls you before you have a chance to make that phone call?

If I made a promise then I wouldn't go back on it. But, if it was someone that I really didn't care for, I might give an excuse because I hate talking on the phone and I also hate calling people haha I normally tell people to call me.

As someone not wanting to lie, no doubt there would be no excuse that would fit for me! The call would have to be made, even if it was cut short by me b/c it was not what I really wanted to do in the first place @atoz1to10

Yes, being honest is better than having to come up with an excuse in a short time..

I will accept that I had forgotten and if I completely don't wanna talk I will make it clear to them not to call.

Good on you...and me too. This is why I don't want to promise any one anything unless I know I can do it..

simply better to accept the mistake. Is there anything wrong if we accept our mistake?

hahah, very good excuse. I have a close friend who I dont promise to call her or anything but in my heart I keep planning to call her and haven't done so, whenever she calls me and I feel so bad that I had to tell her that I was planning to call her but didn't have the time...

Tell that person the real reason why burden yourself with so many excuses; and I think honesty is still the best policy in that kind of situation.

I know, but there are people do not want to take the blame so they come up with whatever they can think of..
