Educators strongly believe that it is the parents who are the best teachers to develop this important trait in their children. It is they who are primarily involved in shaping their children’s attitude, feelings, behavior and indeed, their entire lives. Believing in yourself is the key to instilling self-confidence Wise parents make every effort to bestow on their children one of the finest gifts parents can give - - -the gift of self-confidence. Providing unconditional love is the prime requisite in implanting self-confidence in children. Indeed, all parents love their children and want to do all they can for their well-being. But love alone does not suffice; parents also need to equip their children for living. Parents are advised to begin this process as early as possible. They need to ensure that their children are raised to be responsible, productive and successful adults. They need to understand that self-confidence is a powerful tool instrumental in attaining success- - -personally and professionally. Image: Courtesy of Pixabay

Parents are the first teachers and educators of their children. Parents should be ready to talk, listen and share their knowledge with their children and to encourage them to believe in themselves.

You are so right @LadyDuck But at times, I wonder if parents today have the time and interest to do so.

I agree too @prashu228 But not all parents. It is the parents who seriously consider it their responsibility and have the patience and dedication to be there for their children, who can be their best teachers.

Providing them with healthy activities that hone a talent or skill is one way of developing self-confidence. When they were in the elementary grade, I encourage my grandchildren to join the school's drum and lyre band. They learn to appreciate music, social interaction and are not shy being in the public eye. More importantly they don't join the wrong crowd or street gangs.

Almost all aspects of character building begins at home . So obviously parents have the responsibility of instilling confidence in their children. Never compare and never find faults since we cannot expect them to be know alls and mature while they are still learning and growing up. .

Oh yes, I agree that parents should be the main instillers of self-confidence. They should know that their parents are there for them, whatever they do.
