When Listening To The Radio

Sometimes I switch on the radio for background music. I try to find an FM station that plays non-stop music. I don't mind commercials, station IDs, and news flash inserted in between. What I don't like is listening to DJs. I don't like radio stations with people calling in, either. My mother used to say radios were better than TV. Because you could listen to the news and music while you're doing something else. With TV, there is a tendency to stop and watch and forget the time. There are several pop songs that I remember about radios: Video Killed The Radio Star - The Buggles (1979) Pilot of the Airwaves - Charlie Dore (1979) Radio Gaga - Queen (1984) Radio - The Corrs (1999) “Radio, what's new? Radio, someone still loves you!” (Lyrics from Radio Gaga by Queen) Do you still listen to the radio - AM or FM? Did you ever call to make a song request, join a contest, ask for help, or express your opinion?

I am not really into maintream music so I listen to my itunes play list. The closest thing I have to radio are podcasts. I like podcasts, they are like Dj's that accepts callers but it is recorded instead of live.

I only listen to public radio stations anymore, because most of them have an Americana, bluegrass, traditional country, or alt-country format. I only listen to mainstream or commercial radio when I'm forced to, such as at work or a passenger in someone's car.

in public transportation, malls, stores, eateries, offices, i don't mind whatever is playing, as long as it's not too loud.

I listened to the radio when I was in the Philippines because of the local news. Sometimes I listened to the radio playing the music and it reminded me of my youth.

This theme it's so vintage, I love it. I used to hear the radio a lot when I was little, but now I don't do it anymore. But the time I did was great, and what your mom said is true, I remember when radios were the trending and my mom or any aunt heard the radio while they were cooking or cleaning the house, great memories.

I only listen to the car radio these days - mostly FM, but I might do AM if I need to find out about traffic information on during a long drive (and sometimes to hear news stations if I am on a long drive alone). I have never made a call to a radio station - I assume I would never get through with all the calls they must get!

I tried but TV killed the radio star. Seriously, music is not what it used to be. Very few do it right.

I used to listen to FM radio when I was younger. I had a tape recorder and headphones that I listened to it on. Now, I just use Pandora or other music apps.
