Marbury was benched in the second half of Saturday night's loss to Chicago in a sign of a growing rift between the guard and Knicks coach Isiah Thomas, the New York Times reports. Marbury did not attempt a field goal Saturday night and was scoreless in 19 minutes after getting benched for the second time in six days. After the game, Marbury said he was not okay with the benching and does not understand the situation. "I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on, to be really honest," said Marbury. Asked where things go from here, Marbury sounded pessimistic. "I hope it goes up," he said. "The way how it’s looking, it’s not looking like it’s going up. It’s looking like it’s going down." If this persists, we expect more playing time for Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson. And it solidifies Steve Francis' presence in the starting lineup.
