Hi,
Over a period of time, we start following others here.
Others too follow us.
Yet what happens is that some people become inactive over a period of time, while some leave.
So it might be a good exercise to stop following people who have been inactive since say last 2 years.
It will be a tedious and time consuming exercise though!
Have you done such a cleanup?

I don't have time to do any clean ups now. Honestly I do not mind who is active and who is not active among my connections. I am happy with those who interacts with me at least once in a week. Life is busy for all, just be happy with those who are making our day.
Regarding busy people, they have their own reasons.

@LadyDuck I will keep a time limit of 2 years- I think there is a rare chance of one coming back after 2 years, and even if that happens, let that person approach us with a friend request.
@Shiva49 It depends. But cleanup can show a more manageable number of people we are following.
@Courtlynn yes i do comment on and follow discussions which I like.
@Sreekala Well yes, we all are quite busy and free only when we have to sleep

I did check a few folks I was following. 4 of them have had no activity in last 3 to 4 years- so I unfollowed them and I think it is ok to do so.

I did not because this takes time and when those who are inactive come back, I receive notifications as soon as they post new discussions. Right this morning I had a notifications from someone who did not write for months and several users were back last week.

Following and followers list dont really matter.. unless you like to add people just so it's easier to find friends or people you truly like discussionss from. I dont follow or anything i know who i really like to read, and i go to most recent discussions for everyone else

I don't think we need to do that.
