Dude! Focus!

My husband rushed from outside into the house yesterday and exclaimed, "Oh! My bread!" He sets the bread dough to rise on the kitchen counter, but the man cannot remember that he has dough rising. Yesterday's bread dough rose to a size that was quite impressive, I must say. One of these days, that bread dough of his will be forgotten, and it will end up spreading across the kitchen counter. The bread dough that rose a bit too much made for interesting slices of bread. My husband lamented this morning, "How do I get these to fit in the toaster?" Focus dude!

The easiest way to put those slices of bread in the toaste is to cut them in half.

He may have done that. Oh well, I do find good humor in his odd bread.

@louievill He said the bottom went into the toaster, then he had to fold the wide part sideways and shove it in. He also said that the bread retained its shape after toasting. A miracle!!

The slices look like a puppy to me. A few perfectly placed raisins for eyes,a nose and mouth, and a puppy we would have.

Set an alarm on his watch or if he has one, a cell phone. That will alert him to go check on the bread.

He could use his cell phone. I do not eat white bread, so whatever it turns into is OK with me.

@Corbin5 I would love to bake whole wheat bread. Have carpal tunnel so I can't knead the dough for a long time.

@ElusiveButterfly I know stores here sell frozen dough for white bread, and maybe wheat bread. You just have to let it rise and put it in the oven.

HA, do you remeber the I Love Lucy episode when they were making bread and had doubled the yeast or something, and they had a giant loaf poking out of the oven? They almost got impaled by it!

Others suggested that method too, but it won't be a method used by my husband. Chubby bread may be to his liking. I do not eat white bread, so will let him have at it.

Men always forget something. I see that Marlina gave a simple solution, I was going to say to cut both the sides to have a regular slice. You can always use the leftovers for meatloaf, bread pudding or other recipes.

{gigglin'!} i confess to've done the same myself back'n the day. 'n fact i'd stuck such'n a 200 degree preheated oven 'n left't set to 'warm'. 'schtuff' happened 'n by the time i recalled 'n got back indoors, 't'd stuck to the top 'f the burners (i've a gas oven). 's fer his toaster dilemma? i reckon he can do like the hubs 'n toast 'em'n the oven. love his t!
