Butterscotch Squares with Coffee and Almonds

I have always loved butterscotch brownies and bars. Like dark chocolate, they were not that common when we were growing up. So when I saw these RGies Coffeescotch Squares with Almonds at the snacks section of SM (a popular mall), I treated myself to a pack. The ingredients listed are: raw sugar, flour, glucose, butter, eggs, almond nuts, soluble coffee, chocolate compound (19% cocoa), sodium hydrogen carbonate and iodized salt. There were 10 pieces in one pack and each Coffeescotch square was chewy. Price was 94.75 pesos (1.91 US$). Other variants listed at the back were: Butterscotch Squares with Cashew Nuts, with Mango Bits, with Dates, with ChocoOats, and with Lemon. Rgies Delicacies is based in Iloilo City, in the Visayas Region of the Philippines. They don't seem to have a website, so I just attached the link to their Facebook page. Did you know there's a difference between butterscotch, caramel and toffee? I learned that caramel is made from white sugar, while butterscotch and toffee are from brown sugar. Caramel has more sugar and milk or cream, while butterscotch and toffee has more butter and sugar. What baked snacks or desserts have you tried lately?

I did know there was a difference! I have made caramel and toffee before, but not butterscotch - but I know the taste difference in butterscotch. I can't think of anything "new" I've tried recently, but my daughter ordered a salted caramel pudding yesterday . . . in the link if you look under desserts, it is the one shown in the photo. She loved it!
