Have you ever participated in NCP?

National Consumer Panel (US only, I would imagine) offers rewards for letting them know the kinds of things I buy. I had been doing my regular surveys one day, and was asked if I'd be interested in joining NCP. My late husband had joined many years ago. He enjoyed doing surveys and things like this to earn rewards. Of course, with his eye problems, he ended up having too many problems and he finally sent their scanner back to them. I had offered to help him a few times, but he was a proud man who just wanted to do it himself. And that was fine. I understood him very well. Anyway, I requested the join and gave them the necessary information. I really didn't think they would let me in because I live alone and don't really buy all that much. But they agreed and sent me the scanner. Today was my first time scanning groceries and except for the things that had no barcode, it was kind of fun! Even in their booklet, they don't have sweet potatoes, so I had to wing it. I'm hoping they will update their booklet one of these days. But it was pretty easy and while the first time took me a little bit of time, now that I know how it works, I know it will be easier going forward. I can feel my husband smiling down at me because I feel like I've given him a second chance. Have any of you done this before? Just wondering.... Claudia

I may have heard of the panel before, but I didn't realize that they give you a scanner or that you scan what you are going to buy. Interesting idea. How do you reap the benefits of being on the panel?

You earn points for sending in the information along with doing surveys, and from the points you can get rewards.

It's an interesting thing to do whenever I go shopping. I'm sure I'll be able to keep track of everything on their website, too, which would be nice. And they take just about any store you can imagine! I was very surprised because I always thought it was just for groceries, but it's for so much more!

Yes, I did it for Neilsen. It is a different version of what you were doing. I honestly didn't think it was worth it. I prefer apps now like Ibotta and Checkout51.

I did Neilsen for a while a very long time ago. I'm going to give this some time to see if I can get any decent rewards out of it. I also use Ibotta.

I hope so, too! It's something new and different and now I know that whenever I buy something, I have some place to record it all!

I did that for many years. I enjoyed it, but it became a hassle for me because when I was doing it I needed a phone until I told them the problem I had not having a phone - I was always taking my info to my daughter's to use her phone to scan the info to them. They finally told me an easier way to do it and it worked for a while, but I eventually just told them I was quitting and sent the scanner back to them.

It's gotten much easier now. It just plugs into the router. I remember when my husband had his, it was a pain to get it all set up. This is a lot better in just a few short years.

Participated in surveys but I'm not the biggest fan of surveys. They're are some which offer great benefits. It sounds as if they're some enjoyment taking place. Well good. Be blessed.

I've been pretty lucky with surveys. I seem to get a pretty constant stream of amazon gift cards, which are great for me, and the other day I got money into my paypal account. And I only do the surveys when I have some time on my hands. but it seems to add up!
