Trying Not to Procrastinate

I have a confession to make. I'm a procrastinator. I know I'm not the only person who does this, but I feel like I may be a bit worse. There are times when I'm supposed to be working, yet I get distracted by playing games on my phone, watching TV, or reading celebrity gossip. This is a bad habit I've dealt with for a long time and I'm trying hard to break it. Recently, I began making progress in breaking my procrastination. For one thing, I try to keep my phone away while I'm working. Plus, I've repeated to myself that I'm wasting time goofing off when I can be doing something useful. All the stuff that I enjoy with playing games or reading can wait until I take a break. Do you every procrastinate? If so, what do you do to break the habit?

When I was younger I used to procrastinate quite a bit, but these days I never seem to get around to it.

I only procrastinate those tasks that I really dislike, I know I should mow the lawn, but it is so hot outside and I am procrastinating.

I have this bad habit of checking my phone too from time to time. Unfortunately i have not been able to do much about it. I want to stop being a slave to technology

One of these days I'm going to get around to looking up the definition of "procrastinate." (Yes, I'm a procrastinator...a very bad one.)

It is hard to break procrastination. Yes, I procrastinate over housework. I break it by purposing to do it.

Yes, I do. I try to keep focused on one thing, my mind is all over the place. Just hard for me to get started.

@popciclecold I know what you mean about your mind being all over the place, I think that's also one of the reasons I procrastinate.

I procrastinate a lot. I think it's already in my nature. But I make sure that I do and finish things one step at a time.

I do, I do, but with important things but mainly because I have so much to do - at least that is what I tell myself.

@Freelanzer When you have so much to do it's easy to procrastinate.

I do procrastinate, of course, but I try to do everything in the morning to leave the rest of the day free.

I admit it, I am a procrastinator. When it comes to certain things that I am not thrilled at doing I tend to put them off until I am practically forced to do them. I keep reminding myself of what I should be doing. I will set a time limit of 5, 10 or so minutes to continue whatever I am doing that I am enjoying and then I force myself to do what I should be doing.

I am a terrible procrastinator. I have forceed myself to just do 3 things. Then at times I will keep going. Lately I have been very bad at it.
