A Headache That Needs Medication

I seldom get a headache. And when I do, I just rub my temples with my White Flower Embrocation and sniff it also. It will be gone after a few minutes. But this morning, I had a persistent headache. I have rubbed my temple with White Flower, but I still had it. Then, I even massaged my middle fingers as I have read and tested to be true for a headache, but to no avail. Thus, I asked our customer service representative to send me paracetamol. When he arrived, he has the medicine kit. He advised me I should take Medicol, an ibuprofen, instead of the paracetamol since it’s for fevers. See, I don’t even know what to take. Anyway, the Medicol took away my headache. They should pay me for my good testimonial. Do you take medicine for your headache?

Same with me. I just take those natural remedies. And when they can't be taken away by those and it's so painful, that's the time I take a medicine. So aspirin can also help a headache to go away.

I try to avoid medicines for headaches or for any kind of pain. For headache I do take steam which can give quick relief.

That is also what I do. As long as it is not that painful, I just let it be and apply natural remedies. Really, steam can remedy a headache. I didn'y know that.

@Sreekala we don't have electric facial steamer at home. So maybe just simply putting some warm water and putting a towel over your face and sniffing the steam is already okay?

I suffered of horrible headaches when I was younger, they stopped a few years ago. It was more a migraine than a simple headache. The medications I usually took were Diclofenac, Ketoprofen and Ibuprofen.

@LadyDuck Is that so? I guess they think it's not actually an ailment- the headaches. However, i think migraines are because it really pains the sufferer. Yes, I think it's genetic in your case.

@SIMPLYD Very little know the doctors about the migraines and headaches. He has my same problem and my father and his mother had the same problem. I have to think that it is genetic. The daughter of my brother also suffers of migraines.

acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or aspirin should be taken in full stomach, like Ibuprofen (medicol alaxan, or advil), because they can cause stomach upset, worse, bleeding. ASA is also prescribed to those who have heart ailments because of its anti-thrombotic effect. if you have headache, my lady, may i suggest you take acetaminophen or paracetamol like Rexidol. paracetamol is not only antipyretic (fever-reducing) but also analgesic (pain-reliever). just my advice.

There you are ingrid. Now, with your advice, I now know that paracetamol is good also for pain. Though the Medicol took away my headache. However, I am feeling the headache again. It could be because the previous night when it went brownout from 12:00 midnight to 3:00, I only get to sleep 12-1:00 since I was already asleep when it went brownout. The lack of sleep could be the culprit since last night I slept late again.

@ridingbet ha ha ha Yes, I will be watching Pusong Ligaw in a while , while I do some checking of documents. I love this teleserye. As to Wildflower I also find it dragging already. But I still watch it. he he he I really would like to sleep early tonight, about 10:00 so I can have my 7 hours of sleep or more since I will wake up about 5:00.

@SIMPLYD now here you are my lady. let us go to Pusong Ligaw. have you seen it a while ago? it is suspense now because Beauty and Potpot will see each other na. Wildflower follows, and i think it is dragging now, i am getting bored with it. if sleep deprivation is the cause of the headache, i hope you will sleep early tonight to make up for the lost sleep. "wildflower na, alis muna ako dito". (it is wildflower now, i will leave for a while)

Hello my dear I am not a fan of medicine ( not ever) so, yes, I will try to settle any pain/s with massage (white flower will do) and other alternative ways. But then yes, time comes that some pain doesn't go away that easy ( duh, stubborn eh) that we are forced to resort with taking some meds. I hope you're doing fine my friend and nice to see everyone here

@jaiho2009 I used to have leg cramps especially in the morning. But now it's so rare already. Maybe its because I am taking 2 650 mg of Calcium as prescribed to me. Yes, white flower can really be so nice to sniff so we cannot smell the bad odor (BO , bad breath , smelly feet) of our co-passengers. [

But this headache yesterday was too much a bother, so I took medicol. It was after how many years that I take a medicine to cure my headache. Yes, I am fine and I know you are too.

I don't take any medicine when I have a headache. Yes, I frequently get headaches before. But you know what, ever since I decided to quit pork and coffee, I seldom get headaches. I only have headaches when I'm lacking sleep. haha! For me, quitting coffee and pork works wonders for me.

That's good to know. Just like you, I get a headache too, if I really lacked sleep, which was the case of this headache, because the previous night it went brownout from `12:00 midnight to 3:00 p.m. so I wasn't able to sleep continuously because of the heat. So you don't drink coffee anymore? What do you drink now? I am also lessening my eating pork now. Actually, my desire to eat pork lessened ever since I got sick of pneumonia a few weeks before.

@SIMPLYD I substitute it with tea. Since I've got high uric, I had to give up eating and drinking foods and drinks that would trigger gout. The first two days of quitting coffee is really..really.. difficult. You'll have SEVERE headache. But once you overcome that, the next days you'd come fine.

@SIMPLYD It really does work. Most of the time the headache is gone in 5 minutes. The reason we get headaches is because the blood flow is restricted within the veins in the head. Using the washcloth opens up the veins.

@SIMPLYD Oh. So it's either ibuprofen or paracetamol. I always have a Biogesic (paracetamol) on hand just in case of headache, flu or fever. I prefer biogesic because it is safe to take even on an empty stomach.

If I get a headache I don't normally drink medicine first. I usually sleep it off or eat a little bit then rest first to see if I just need some rest. And if I still have it after taking some rest then I go and take some paracetamol.

Yes, usually that's how we treat our headaches naturally. Sleep can really take it away and it means we are just simply stressed. Paracetamol or ibuprofen is handy when it becomes unbearable.

I hardly took western medicine when I occasionally got a headache.I pressed my temples and Fengchi acupoints for a while ,if they didn't do their work ,then took some prepared Chinese medicine .

I am thinking that it could be caused by my lack of sleep the previous night when it went brownout from 12 midnight to 3:00 the other night. Then last night, I wasn't able to complete my 7 hours of sleep again since I wasn't able to sleep as early as 10:00 since I wake up at 5:00 to prepare breakfast and myself for work.
